My mum's old Oris today. Yes, I know it's a ladies watch, but the style and size are a good match for similar gents watches from the 1920's right up to the 1950's so the fit works pretty well I reckon. The portrait (yes, that is my mum) was done by an Italian POW circa 1943 when she would have been about 7 or 8 years old.15 points

This today, my latest and very cheap purchase! Having just spent a little while cleaning off 60 odd years worth of accumulated grime and filth it's cleaned up rather well I think, well the case has anyway! The dial needs restoration and the crystal's cracked but the movement's lovely, I was expecting to find it a corroded mess, most surprised! Just binning the ghastly expanding metal bracelet that was on it improved matters no end! Movado 'Futuramic' Calibre 115 'bumper' automatic. 1950-19598 points

Hi all - this is my first post and also my Birthday! Just wanted to get off my backside and be a bit less of a Luddite and introduce myself. I've rather foolishly been spending all of money on raising kids and paying household bills. But I've seen the light and am much happier now with my new watches and hungry children! So, I've been buying small from here and there and selling them on so I could invest in some modest but interesting watches. Here's a pic of my Birth year watch a 1968 Seiko 5 Sports 5126-8080 and one of my faves in my small but growing collection.4 points

As a long-term fan of Limit watches, I thought I would just show a couple of models that I have in my collection. I have been collecting pre-owned and modern Limit watches for a number of years, including the mechanical models and the later quartz varieties. Recently, I have been downsizing my collection generally and have disposed of many of my Limit watches, either to charity or sale. However, I still have the nucleus of my collection and have retained the two models discussed in this topic. The first model I show (ref: 5465.01) here is this one, where Limit has created a handsom3 points

The police don't care about anything as long as they get paid themselves, you can't expect law enforcement to be any different than any other human being. I know a guy who is now a retired police officer, he's been decorated personally by the Queen and is a local hero in my area so I assume he is the "good cop" type of guy which makes him a good example of police behaviour (and as far as I know him he really is a great person who has helped many people). A few years back there was an amnesty for various weapons to be turned in at police stations (guns, knives, and others). After the amnesty wa3 points

( If this post needs to be moved to a more relevant section please could a mod move it for me ) Bought a new dial and chapter ring last week from Rob at Monsterwatches Donor SKX007 selected time to build the mod . First I removed the bezel and put this to one side as I do not need to use it I have a spare in my spares box Next movement out and remove the hands Hands off and dial removed time to put the new dial and hands onto the movement . I was not sure which hands to use so I placed these over the dial first to see how they would look but was not happ2 points

Almost as exclusive, Mart...I haven't even seen this yet, and if it's what I'm hoping for, I'll be a very happy (indeed, lucky) RtD.... Edit: Wasn't she the one with the 'big boobies'....2 points

Seriously you're paranoid, over the years I've owned them I've spent more on V&RB's and parties in the sun than my Rolex's cost. Big M's prospective son in law just bought a Merc at £46K and he leaves it parked up all over the place, in a fortnight it'll be lucky if it's worth half that. Live your life a bit, you only get one shot at it.2 points
