Morning, It’ll be this 1950s Repco Watch today, with its 17j AS 1194. Sources attribute the brand registration on 26th August 1944 in Tramelan to either Balmer & Gagnebin (about whom I’m not finding very much) and/or simultaneously to the family company of Armand Nicolet. The connection between these parties will need further research. As well as making perfectly decent watches, Repco also produced novelty cufflink efforts as shown in this advert from 1957, strapline "Cuffette - Not just an improvement – A thoroughly new watch “ and seemingly aimed at retailers to somehow help boost their business. (Image credit to Marco Strazzi). With the demise of the last Niclolet family member in 1992, ownership passed to Italian entrepreneur Rolando Braga and whilst production continued in Tramelan, design and marketing were centred in Brescia, Italy until 2001 when the Repco Watch Co was deleted from the register of companies as bankrupt. Regards.

Merry Christmas to everyone on TWF and a prosperous New Year. Special mention to Roy, who hosts a great forum here. I only belong to one forum and it's TWF. Everyone is so friendly and will try to help out with any watch related questions and also have a laugh aswell. Friendly mods too! Don't worry, I don't intend to stop talking about Sir David in 2020. A special thought goes out to all of those who have lost relatives or friends this year as it can be a tough time. Also, thinking of the emergency services who keep us safe all year round but work even harder at this time of year. Last, but by no means least, the armed forces, and the ones who aren't at home with their loved ones.

Sorry I got to this thread a bit late - I was dealing with a certain member who shall remain nameless, who was reported for putting Christmas messages on the Watch Discussion section of the Forum... Tut tut, and slapped wrist, but I think we can let that one pass judging by the responses on here. I myself will join the throng on this thread and wish every member of the forum a great Christmas and a happy New Year. Many thanks must be expressed to Roy, the other moderators, and those members who keep this space a lively, friendly and informative place to be.

It probably doesn't help that the main Watch Discussion Forum is littered with topics that plainly don't belong in there.

... as Xmas approaches, to the forum and its membership, I must have had a lot of fun as the time has flown since I joined last Feb and a lot has happened. To anybody reading this that has felt I may have ruffled their feathers, I know at times I can come across as a bit of an ultracrepidarian, and I would therefore like to take this opportunity not only to say thanks to those that tolerate me, but also, to those reading this that have found my terrible attitude intolerable, that I am very sorry. (that you have not ignored me yet) otherwise thanks again, and have a jolly time Cheers!
