  4. Morning, For today, it’ll be this Brio. Maker unknown, but possibly by Armand Chatelain-Voumard of Tramelan in the French-speaking area of Switzerland. If so, the brand name appears to have been registered in 1930. This one probably dates from the late 1940s and at 36mm it’s quite a big boy for its age. It runs on my only example of the 17j Eberle (NFT) 38/41. Regards.

  21. RLT-17 is the best looking of all the RLT watches I reckon. I'm working from home today, so haven't worn a watch all day, but as I've just acquired another watch with a faceted crystal that is awaiting a battery, I thought I'd pull this funny looking thing from the back of the watch box to get me used to the look.

  26. Just downloaded Felix Francis' latest novel 'Guilty, not Guilty' onto the Kindle. Have waited for around a year for this to drop in price from £9.99 to the current £2.99. (Tight @r$e!...) and some toggle clamps to attach the new table I'm making to my drill press.

  27. Thanks Alan and yes, it’s probably do-able as per this Konak which wasn’t, I hasten to add, because of its Baumgartner 34, but more because of the brand itself. It took me just about as long as I have left on this earth and, short of slinging it into a sulphuric bath, I really can’t muster the enthusiasm to do something similar with the Kama.

  31. A small forked wedge would release it, had a couple of hard made ones at work but it was most likely pressed in at the factory. Morse Taper drills are fine for heavier work bigger holes but for DIY the drill chuck will be fine. As an asides it might not even be a MT just pressed in on an interference fit. @Roger the Dodger

  33. Being a fan of the earlier Streetfighter games (II Turbo being my favourite!) I see what the've done. The Zangief looks looks more like Ken for me. The Blanka is pretty cool, but not one I would wear. I appreciate the detail and its a nice collectors piece

  35. Following on from the drill press table project, a few more have raised their heads. I need to make a router table, a router sled for accurate levelling and half jointing and a new circle cutting jig. I also have plans to convert my 7" Makita circular saw into a rail saw and table saw. I made a router sled when I was working, but left it there when I retired. The new one is now fixed in my mind, and will be a better version with metal rails. These are not only good for levelling, but also for supporting the router if clearing a large recess that is wider than the router base to avoid tipping.
