  4. Just received my competition prize from Roy, thank you,Sir Am now able to offer comprehensive servicing for all horological timepieces, including tri-axis Tourbillon's & Carrousel's. Obviously my rates will be greatly inflated due to the immense cost of setting up a workshop. ... *Jon @PC-Magician I know your initial reaction will be "Wow! that is one fully equipped workshop" but I'm confident there will enough punters for both of us.

  11. Morning, Today this 35mm German-made FBU running on a17j ETA 2390. Made by Franz Burger Uhren of Pforzheim whose tiny monogram also appears under the balance wheel and about whose activities I have found virtually nothing. The linen-effect dial also seems strangely reluctant to say very much at all. Regards.

  17. Morning... First of all, these are not mine Son-in-law asked me to replace the batteries yesterday...okay! He acquired these about 10 years ago, before acquiring a mechanical (vintage) fondness. Made by the SEIKO corporation for the Italian fashion house MANDARINA DUCK. This first one was originally supplied on a bespoke fitted rubber band, which eventually broke. He sent the watch head & unusual lug fittings to STEVEOSTRAPS who fashioned a replacement to his requirements, along with a spare. This second one still retains original band...

  21. I say, go for it! Given my lack of prowess in actually trying to fix watches, I thought the most suitable tool would be this one - and it even comes with all the accessories: £123.40 on the Bay with Free postage. What's not to like?

  35. They're honey bees. The lady a few doors down from me is a beekeeper. I can watch vast streams of them approaching down wind before coming in to land, having a drink and then taking off into the wind and heading off back to their hive. It's like Heathrow Beeport sometimes.
