  16. Morning, This 1940s steel-cased VIXA running on a 15j Lorsa 237B. Seemingly relatively recently, Mikrolisk has now recorded a Swiss-made “Vixa” brand by Era Watch Co. However, that has no relation to today’s French-made effort from the VIXA Watch Co, founded in Besançon by Stéphane Boullier sometime in the 1940s, and a company whose documented brief history from various sources is as fragmentary as it is confusing. Regards.

  28. Got the watch back from the re-platers. They've done a brilliant job. It looks like new. Any marks that you think you can see are reflections the actual watch is flawless. Her is a before with almost all the plating worn away: and after: Thanks. Carl.

  37. I have the Apple 4 watch it’s main use other than telling the time is using it’s Bluetooth connection to skip tracks on the music I’m listening to on my morning walk. I once tried actually answering a call on it in central London, absolute disaster.

  38. You rang?? I've been using fitbits for about 6 years as activity trackers and I think they're great piece of kit. The user experience through the app and it's intergration with 3rd party sports apps made the difference. I briefly put one down when the Apple Watch 1 came out but it was too limited in terms of sports and activity functionality so I went back to fit bit. I get the sense that Apple has been on point since the 3 but my fitbit keeps going so no need to change back. I've historically gone for the smaller bands in order to dial down the double-wristedness but I've had t

  39. Last night, when deciding which watch to wear this next few days, made my mind up on the Seiko Black Solar Chrono. It hadn't see daylight for about 10 weeks, so when I went to set the time I was pleasantly surprised to see the Seiko was almost exactly sync'd with my G-Shock. Only the date needed changed, hidden by minute hand, but never touched the time. Clever stuff by Team Seiko

  40. The minute markers for 29, 30 and 31 are missing Not sure if I like the hourly 6 being present inside the seconds sub dial while the 5 and 7 are partially hidden. I think I do, but it'll take a little getting used to.

  45. You are spending way too much time looking at your watches. Most of the time if I check the time I can not even see the second/minute markers unless I hold the watch close to my face.
