  5. Morning, My one and only pocket watch, this triple-leaf Cyma hunter running on its 15j Cal. 998a in a Dennison Star 10K gold-filled case. It wouldn’t have been a particularly expensive watch when new, nor is it valuable today, completely irrelevant as it had been my grandfather’s only watch, and to whom, as a manual worker all his days, it would have represented a sizeable chunk of a limited budget. Regards.

  9. Another Mickey Mouser. This 31 year old Lorus dates to 1990 and was purchased in Disneyland, Ca. When I bought it from an American collector in 2013, the plating on the case was worn, so I had it replated. It uses a Seiko Y621-6050 automatic movement, quite unusual as most Mickey watches are either hand wind or quartz. The display back features a gold Mickey motif. Although the date is correct, this is an old pic taken before the case was re plated.

  12. Had to send this one to the Seiko Service Centre as it was having issues. It came back yesterday, service took just over a month and the whole movement was replaced. All seems good now.

  25. Still with my latest arrival but since having it on the wrist a few days I find the date magnifier absolutely useless. You have to be looking at it dead on and it mostly obscures the date at other angles. Plus it really doesn't magnify it all that much, it really doesn't. Not sure if other brands tackle the magnifier issue better, I'm sure they do but mine is just a hindrance to the dial! My first magnifier and probably my last. Apart from that I'm enjoying it. have a good day all!

  28. I found myself doing this today and realised that it probably isn't normal. Only a watch obsessive would... I keep a lint remover near my watch boxes but that's just coincidence, right? Is it only me?

  29. Roue TPS4. having put a little mark in the case if my IWC last week I wanted to get something ‘cheap’ for day to day use I'm not so paranoid about. Found Roue whilst looking for something motorsporty - pretty happy with it.

  33. Just got back from Papworth hospital after routine checks on my heart, so a couple of ECG's, followed by a chat with the consultant. Now fitted with an ECG monitor for 24 hours to provide extra data for them, which is a nuisance, but never mind. One of my brothers had a heart attack years ago and is fitted with a defibrillator to correct an irregular heartbeat, caused by a faulty gene which I also have, so they are monitoring mine every few years as a precaution. Anyway, it's the mighty TW Steel Goliath for me today:

  35. The latest I just cannot take my eyes off of. I call it a Sudor SubMaster. Part Seiko Marine Master (dial & hands), part Tudor Black Bay (bezel insert), and part Rolex Submariner (case, bezel & bracelet). Haven't determined yet which bracelet option I like most, but I think I'm digging the jubilee.

  39. I've made this today - my first pen It still needs a bit of tidying still & could do with a with some sort of cap. I'm going to try & make this tomorrow - not sure what to make it out of though but maybe some black nylon (to match the ring) or from aluminium for lightness/contrast. The body of the pen is 12mm brass bar drilled out 6.5mm to take the parker refill & 2.5mm for the actual nib part (the bit you actually write with). The black ring is nylon & there for a bit of contrast/decoration & to hide the join between the two body parts. The pocket clip isn't really big enough but was the only one I could find. I bought this one from America (via Ebay), does anyone know a source of these that's closer to home? At 12mm thick it's quite a chunky thing but it's comfortable to hold & to write with
