  2. Well I’m back after having had the op which they tell me was a success but I am in some almighty pain. This watch has now been through everything with me although I did have to take it off prior to surgery but it has been a godsend . Hopefully I’ll be back into the swing of things over the coming days and looking forward to our daily posts.

  7. Just arrived to cheer me up this Eterna 1948 Heritage watch which is no stranger to the forum having been purchased from @redmonaco , who I have to say has been tremendously supportive in this transaction . I have always had the Eterna on my wish list but this was an opportunity too good to miss. More will be forthcoming tomorrow after I have had the opportunity to “play “ with it Absolutely delighted with this. It will definitely get a lot of wear time

  16. Another recovery from the waifs and strays bin, a Seiko 7T92-0NY0. New movement, stem, crown and running seconds hand, which is strictly speaking too long, but it was the only one I could get to stay on the shaft. And with greatly appreciated material, educational and moral support from @tick-tock-tittle-tattle. Really needs a less dressy strap, but the shiny lizard was the only 20mm in the box.

  21. Pick a box, any box Pallet trucking last night, I just wandered around with a few boxes looking like I was doing something with them. Money for old rope with the Seiko The place is huge, it has those lights that go on and off as you walk along it's a bit creepy late at night, you can wander around for hours on the mezenin floors and not see anyone.

  32. Afternoon all… here, as promised are another few pictures. I’ve had my eye on this for many a year but there was always something in the way of buying. Get what people are saying re the shark tooth bracelet but tried the leather on and much preferred the bracelet on the wrist. They didn’t have the rubber in stock but that’s something I’ll likely purchase as an alternative. The watch looks and feels superb and that box is something else. First Longines in my collection, 1st retro diver, 1st shark tooth bracelet (sent the Squale back) so ticking a lot of boxes. Lastly, Ernest Jones threw in a cracking Wolf four watch roll into the bargain! The Mrs only left me alone for a few mins while she was in H&M

  34. My second san martin has just arrived. Vintage sub with a pencil hour hand. Always loved this model but didn't want it with a mercedes hand. Similar look to invicta 1953 but smaller, with sapphire crystal, ceramic bezel and sterile dial. I love it:) My second san martin and second with a sterile dial.

  35. That looks great & always a bonus when you pick something up here from a fellow forum member - They (dare I say we?) always seem to take better care of watches than people from other places we buy from? Health to wear

  38. 24hrs on the wrist and all is ok, it has a whizzy phone app that lets you set it from the phone and change the date format to day month, find the phone if lost, mark your position, update and set alarms and reminders, add and change locations around the world and probably more functions I've yet to find. I'm still not a fan of digital but I do like the price, solar charging and time keeping abilities as it is linked to the atomic clocks too. It will go in the collection but probably won't be a regular beater as its not analogue.......but for £85 I can't worry too much!!

  41. Agree, good looking watch but I think I'd have it on the black sail cloth strap with white stitching, or see if I could get a decent rubber strap for it. (it's not a million miles away from the JLC Polaris I have recently ordered which is maybe why I like it).

  44. I like it but not sure I'd wear it, if that makes sense. I think it might need a 70's velvet maroon tracksuit to complete the look.
