  1. Nice one John . I do so like a happy ending. .
  2. And a fine example of a human being. Many could learn from his example.
  3. Hi JayK. I seem to remember a forum member @Always"watching" owning one of these (or one similar). If he doesn't pick up on this thread it may be worth sending him a PM for advice. Good luck.
  4. Hello H. good photos. The arrows referred to (if they are there) will be seen closer to the head of the watch rather than the clasp. Impossible to say from the photos.
  5. Just finished a polony sandwich (with tomato sauce).
  6. There is YouTube item made by Patek on the making/manufacture of this timepiece. Fascinating and well worth a viewing if you can find it.
  7. Sorry its late, but thanks fore the response people.
  8. When removing the setting/winding stem from a movement is it best to remove when stem is in the fully pushed in position or fully out/set position.
  9. Nice watch. If the watch is 14K gold there may be assay/date letters on the inside case back thay could provide a date.
  10. When the mood takes me I sometimes leave the house with a spoon in my back pocket.
  11. " ahappychapwhowhenpressedhardcanbeoneunholysonofabitch" There you go .
  12. Can you post a detailed picture of the back case..
  13. Great thread this. Guessed the spork and previously read about the Pouge (cos I want one ). Didn't have a clue about the other. Thank you.
  14. There are so many brands out there. Try an Ebay search using the term ' 70's vintage LED watch'. Plenty of pictures to assist.. I'm a big fan of the LED. Had an Accurist LED for my 18th. Long gone now but did find one in A1 working condition on 'the Bay'. Good luck.
  15. That's a beaut. Loving the blued steel.
  16. I too have changed several kinetic capacitors with varying degrees of success. Leaving me to conclude the kinetic watch itself was not meant to last forever.
  17. There is no substitute for real talent. I love the ELO. (I wish someone would point this out to that murderer of talent Cowell).

    New trend?????

Believe this may be the format used by the USA and like most things crosses the pond eventually. However I will continue to drive on the left!
  21. Try placing in a freezer for ten minutes. Work quickly to insert gasket. I've only had to do this once but it worked for me.
  22. Im looking to do the same scott. How did you get on?
  23. To change the battery is really not difficult. And IMHO pressure testing is only really essential if you swim or dive with the watch. A visual inspection and wipe over of the caseback seal (once removed) should suffice.
  24. Was going to send a photo but couldn't stop shivering enough to do so. It would appear 'The Beast From the East' has killed my boiler . Please Mr boiler resurrection man can you hurry .
  25. The pocket watch is worth saving IMHO. Fattorini family back in the day was an established watchmaker and silversmiths. I believe they made the first F.A. Cup.
