  3. Good shout - hadn't considered the Zenith and I'm off to Australia at Xmas so the duty free idea is a good one
  4. So I have been fairly radical and cleared out all of my watches (again) except for my Breitling Montbrillant and the IWC which is still for sale on the SC forum / bay... So in short I am on the lookout for something special £2.5 -£3k to spend for an everyday watch to wear to work (office job :big_boss:) - I sold my IWC Portofino which was a lovely watch and previously my Rolex Sub which was also lovely so I'm thinking maybe an IWC upgrade (something 'dressy') or another Rolex Not going to rush in (I hope) but would appreciate your views on options and good places to buy... I have to sa
  5. all thumbs up so far hmm maybe I should stick with it :man_in_love:
  6. Your wish is my command ... So what's the verdict  or  ... too big for my puny wrists? Still love the look of it but just don't want to feel like mr bling
  7. Doh At least I have the chance to get mine back to EJ's for a return I would be very unhappy about that...
  8. So as the title says I got a bit trigger happy at the weekend wandering around the watch shops at Westfield London I ended up buying the watch as per the title... A real beauty it is too, number 692 in a limited edition of only 1000 pieces... and a real bargain by new watch standards 40% off in the sale! at £3.5k... down from £5,900! So what's the problem? Well despite convincing myself all was well when I purchased it and that it really suited me it's just a wee bit too big for my wrists at 47mm... So it will be going back to Ernest Jones at the weekend (if anyone wants a barg
  9. Loving Merlin's railmaster ... Inspired me to go with the PO today... Off to work Lottery adjudicating tonight
  10. Thanks guys I may make a special trip up there once I have the cash in my hand, as you say it could be worth the fuel
  11. Hi All as per the header has anybody used this online firm (iconic watches)? I have settled on purchasing a IWC Portofino Chronograph and in doing my online research I came across this firm that seem to sell that watch at what would seem to be an unbeatable price.. The best I could get price wise on the high street has been a hard haggled 10% so the 20% discount that they are offering seems v good. Too good? Cheers for any help and advice you can provide.
  12. So did you scratch that itch? Barney P.S. Colt also lost to the wife. Bracelet has been adjusted, I've lost out again :) To be honest I'm not sure... I got the submariner and although I "like it" I'm not sure it's really for me :frusty: !! I'll give it a chance though! It may be the last of my collection including the Sub get outed some time soon to fund the grail watch (IWC Portuguese 7 day power reserve) - but I'm not going to jump into that!! Not surprised about the Breitling (great watch) and I'm pleased it's getting wrist time.
