  1. Yeah i will consider the options,I will chase up someone to look at the dial. Thanks Dave
  2. Thanks Steve. You are right it wears very well,as for the onion crown already looking for the right one. As for the Dial, the Longines with the white on black matt look and are the buisness, thanks for that. I will keep looking for Longines parts or similar to improve the overall look and condition. Many Thanks Dave
  3. Hi, Yeah when I got it I did not have that Umph feeling(if you know what I mean). I have been very lucky so far . So this is a down to earth moment, ---- I still like it though,it feels comfortable. Thanks David
  4. Hi, Thanks the hands are great and blue and blemish free. Dave
  5. Hi Gary. I suspected as much, with the lack of info I could find and the only clues were that of pocket watch movements with the same calibre. It feels good to wear and some more info might come to light (wishful thinking) Thanks Dave
  6. Hi, I purchased this LONGINES on a local car boot for £100,the guy said it was a WW11 Pilots Watch. But I am not convinced, the serial number relates to c1941 but cannot find one to compare with. The Movement is 37.93,which is the same movement as a couple of LONGINES pocket watch movements which i came across but nothing else. The size is 42.5mm diameter, and very heavy to wear. Can anyone give me any info about this watch? Is it Highly collectable or just collectable etc. Many Thanks David
  7. Hi, I am becoming a regular for asking questions on watch identication--I in time will learn a bit more. My dad says 'you wont know now't if you dont ask'. Please can anyone enlighten me on this watch movement. It is from a 'Red 12' Trench Watch style hallmarked 1921. Un-named on dial but this mark on movement,it looks like it is built up of the letters T. H. F. Can anybody help. Many Thanks. dshilton63.
  8. I need to find one of those for my Mum. She's got this lovely old 20's number with a red 12 she loves but it's just reliable at all. Had it checked out and the local guy who seems to know his stuff couldn't really do much for it sadly so I'm looking for something similar to replace it for her. No brand is relevant at all, just got to be small, stainless, and looking basically just like what you have there. In fact the second one is even better as she probably doesn't want despatch rider written on it.... Can I ask where you got it?
  9. I Have Taken apart again ,a correction on movement size it is 23.61. This is a pic of under the dial. Thanks Dave.
  10. Hi, I will take some pictures as suggested and post. The Diameter of the movement as far as I can ascertain is 23.15mm. Many Thanks David.
  11. Oh goodie a challenge, well that'll help keep me mind of work for today... excellent. Well, a starter for ten - although I imagine you got this far already - is that looks to me to be a Unitas 6498 mechanical you've got there. From the pic and my squinty morning eyes I think I can read Swiss Made stamped too so I'm going to suggest not one of the Chinese clones... Any other takers out there chaps? Thanks I will try to put on a clearer movement Pic,Any Idea's on th LM?
  12. Hi all. I am trying to identify this fab watch. Can anyone help. The case is screwback, fully running, but I cannot find anymore about this great looking watch. The what seems 'LM' on the dial back,I cannot find, probably cant see the wood for the trees. Many Thanks David.
  13. Hi, Please be patient with me have not found way of posting pics yet. Thanks.
  14. Hi, I Purchased a Gold Cushion Watch on the local Car Boot today. On inspection I saw the Snail Logo on the movement. Having banged my head trying to previously find any info, for 4 other watches, I thought of asking alot more knowledgeable watch guys than myself,if any one knows which watch maker the logo comes from. Many Thanks Dave.
