    Watch Snob?

Remember when Smiths did 'salt and shake' crisps? I got one with two packets of salt once. What a day! :offtopic2: A great day I'm sure but recently i was lucky enough to enjoy the fabled 'wafer-less' kitkat! :) Ohhhh yes - the grail! :D Not found one of those yet, but I was lucky enough to get a Trio once with just chocolate and toffee! :good: :offtopic2: ...and thus you consumed, quiet possibly, the greatest biscuit in history!
  2. I subscribe to Top Gear and Stuff magazine (gadget freak that I am!). Nodding to the hedge porn - I remember being at a friends house who had just discovered his dad's grot collection, we were 12ish and found the whole thing quite hilarious and decided to search more to see what we could find........we then discovered his mum's collection! Many years pass and I see them at aforementioned friends wedding and couldn't look them in the eye!

  4. Hi and an official welcome from a semi new member who also knows very little and is sure to ask dumb questions/make misjudged comments!
  5. Hi Pete, I couldn't agree with you more! Since I joined this forum I am now aware of so many other watches that for some reason I am compelled to buy!!

Thank you for sharing so openly James. I have been really touched by your posts. Loss affects us all in so many different ways and I wish you all the best for the coming times.
  7. Imagine what the red top papers would say if it was announced that due to impending hair-loss Harry was to become heir - I can see weed smoking, nazi outfit headlines already ;)
  8. Thanks for asking that! I've was wonderring the same...I shall be adopting this one into the vocabulary :)
  9. I am glad I'm not the only one who repeatedly feels that the entire world of various suppliers are intentionally goading me to climb the bloomin' bell tower!

  11. I used to work with a chap who was involved with the work in getting this lady back in the air (he was ex RAF from Lincolnshire way). I always hoped I could wangle my way in to see her fly.....was never that lucky :(

  13. Cheers Andy - looking on the bright side, at least my BIL's watch was insured whereas some of my sister's rings were from our late grand mother and would have been irreplaceable. They had have removed the stones from some of the rings but luckily all components have been recovered and can be rebuilt. Hopefully my next post on this thread will be a good story of how the GMT is recovered!
