  1. I went to the cloud bar at the Hilton in Manchester last week and the lift attendant was wearing an Omega Speedmaster! He was only a young lad and got into a conversation about it much to my other half's annoyance..turns out him and his brother inherited one each when his dad passed away
  2. New one to me..not really my cup of tea but fascinating movement and application

  9. I always find thread like these fascinating...I'm very much of the 'appreciate beautiful watches and movements but have no idea how they work' ilk  It's strange really...like owning a classic car but only knowing how to change the oil :wallbash: These type of thread make me really appreciate the craftsmanship of watches...other than it aesthetically looking good and keeping reasonably good time :D
  10. My first car was a Vauxhall Cavalier hatchbatch in a rather fetching chocolate brown  My first watch was a 'Popeye the sailor' watch...it was when I was very young (Late 70s/early 80s)

  12. From my previous comment, didn't notice the speedy was a reduced...For me then I would definitely keep the Sinn...I'm no fan of Breitling so a no brainer...The Breitling maybe more unobtainable but aesthetically it is not in the same league as the German timepiece
  13. Saw this when browsing..to be fair it's in good shape and it's super rare to find the pvd bracelet in such good condition..it's overpriced granted..but in that NOS condition not overly so Would I fork out that sort of dough? Even as a Heuer fan the answer would be no But it's a good example and somebody just might consider it with a fair following wind
