  1. Can someone tell me if this Tag Heuer is real or fake please... see pics - much appreciated
  2. Sorry late responding - thank for posting a reference to a suitable strap.
  3. Does anyone know where I can source the original strap for this other than Citizen themselves (they are drawing a blank)? I guess it would be New Old Stock somewhere. Otherwise - a suitable replacement which looks authentic would be fine (I don't like the leather strap - it looks naff on this watch).
  4. Yes a pity - otherwise a good rarity to have in your posession (especially if you are a Citizen watch collector I guess).
  5. Researching further - this seems to be the closest manual I could find on the Citizen website: http://www.citizenwatch-global.com/support/pdf-guide/8989/e.pdf My particular 8986 movement was not listed.
  6. Well I was thinking about selling it on the auction site and perhaps would have value based on it's rarity rather than anything else. Interesting temperature mode on it - two readings of temperature it would seem (if you press mode) - one read about 31 degrees C when I was fiddling with it, and the other 18 degrees C? I must source instructions for this watch before I sell it.
  7. Can anyone tell me anything about this Citizen watch (see pics)? I can only find a little about it on the Internet - it seems to be very rare?
  8. Oh great - a strange brand and a bit of a mystery! This one has Oris and Bentima so is perhaps their higher-end implementation with reference to Oris (hopefully).
  9. I have this Vintage BENTIMA STAR ORIS ladies watch and would like to know a little more about it? It looks lovely and the gold is striking in the light. Looking closely I think the Gold is 10 Microns thick. Not much about it on the net so I thought I would ask here.. some pictures:
  10. Thanks for all these responses - and someone here 'collects' Indian Watches which sounds very unique when it comes to collecting specific watches - I didn't know India was heavily into good quality watches. I would have thought something like and ORIS would have better Swiss prestige but, yes, what do I know. I've had another hard core Google and I cannot see one single similar image for this watch so, perhaps they did a short run of this particular design. Would getting in contact with the company help? It would be interesting to find an old catalogue from the 60's or 70's (guessing the age here).
  11. Hi, I've acquired this lovely looking Swiss Made watch, by Anglo-Swiss, model: Cavalry. I can't see any other one like it on the Internet - has anyone any experience of this manufacturer? Is it generally a good watch? I see a look of references to India despite being "so called" Swiss Made.
  12. I took on board your suggestion - the same seller had a bronze coloured dial version - I asked him to swap that out.
  13. I don't think I can see the sales section - I haven't posted enough posts as a new member here.
  14. OK enough is enough - due to one of the recommendations on this thread I went and bought this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NOS-ORIENT-DIVER-ROTATING-BAZEL-AUTOMATIC-MENS-GENTS-WATCH-/172277927418 Please tell me I did the right thing!! I have two watches now - and that's the end of it.
  15. OK I'll leave it - interesting that there's and 80's and 90's model of the same type. Actually I've found the exact one here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Seiko-Mens-ULTRA-RARE-Arctura-Kinetic-Yellow-Midsize-5M42-0E39-Watch/131869753871?_trksid=p2047675.c100623.m-1&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20160323102634%26meid%3D47fd65a5fca04b3094ab6a48b2157600%26pid%3D100623%26rk%3D3%26rkt%3D6%26sd%3D351786685932 They are asking a lot for it - and the 'yellow' one is listed here (yellow I guess means the triangle and not the strap) as ULTRA rare! Hmmmmmmm ... at least it's not an 80's watch now.
  16. Interesting - when I handled it in the shop and pressed that button that indicates charge (the hand moves on the face) - there was no movement. Now I assumed this is because no-one is wearing it and that to me would have been the obvious reason the capacitor was not charged. I shall give it a good shake next time. If it works after the shake does that mean the capacitor is good? I sort of like the look of it, (not as much as my AD-500 but it would make a nice 'second' watch perhaps).
  17. Researching myself I've found this 'blue' faced version on eBay http://www.ebay.com/itm/351786685932 Which suggests it's a Seiko Kinetic 5M42-0H09 - SKH499 ...but perhaps the model numbers change with the colour. And perhaps blue is better (or rarer) than black?
  18. Can anyone tell me if this watch is worth buying? It's a kinetic watch and you can see it here which is a shop window photo (so not very clear). It's selling for £90 - is it worth it? Are there some faces rarer than others (this is a black face with little yellow triangle at the top). And I assume it's a gents watch but I'm not sure!
  19. I'm trying to find a manual for this watch - can't find one anywhere and it's not on Casio's website. The actual model number is a Casio 389 - here's a link to an immaculate version (that sold some time back) with the original manual. http://aucview.aucfan.com/yahoo/h172249345/
  20. It's a Casio AD-500, that's all I really know - and the more I look at it even on this forum let alone my wrist, the more I like it. Lovely looking thing especially with the white face (they did a black face version of this watch too). My son says he wants one just like it! Guess I've got to buy another one if I can find one.
  21. OK let's try that again because I can't edit the post above - see either link for the watch i chose (which I really like) https://www.flickr.com/photos/96880970@N05/shares/W2D19a ...or hopefully the pic is below - if not - sorry I'm not sure how to show photos on a post sorry..
