  2. Wearing my new addition today. [emoji7] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. There may be a few bits from that sale in their way to me now. [emoji57] I just need to sort out what’s going out of the watch box when they arrive. [emoji3525] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. I’ve just had a mail with some 15-20% reductions. I many have accidentally orders one. 5. That first one is stunning. One of these is also on my list and that’s a really good price. Here’s a review if that’s any help, from someone who knows what he’s talking about - Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Bought a few bits of Lego for the boy for Christmas and a leaf blower. All the watches I wanted were out of my price range atm. [emoji53] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. That dial is growing on me from day to day. It’s been a week since I’ve bought a turtle, so I may have to start looking! [emoji2960] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. I couldn’t decide between the two, and seeing that they were selling quickly, I thought I’d get both and then make a decision between them when I could look at them properly. Unfortunately I like them both now. So they’re staying. The wife raided my watch box this morning and heads claimed my blue lagoon to be her daily wearer! I can’t complain realty as she hasn’t complained about me buying these. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Picked these up from the post office this morning. Should have had them on Saturday, but the wife decided to go out when the postman was due! The one on the left is the dawn grey Turtle and the one in the right is the dawn grey Samurai. They look much better than they do in the pictures, and will be going straight in the watch box when the stickers are taken off and I size them.
  10. And there’s 2 more spaces in the watch box filled. [emoji51] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Going via Abu Dhabi. Unfortunately I only have a 3 hour wait between flights, so won’t have much time to look in th airport. Will have to look at the Singapore or Hong Kong option next time.
  12. I’m visiting there soon for my brothers 50th birthday, and it would be a shame to go all that way and go and look at what’s on offer. I’d probably be looking at pre-owned, but could also be tempted with something new if the price is right. Does anyone have any recommendations?
  13. The sales guy said they were omegas we’re lovely watches but I’d never wear them. He’s probably right. I tried a few of the Nomos watches on, starting with a club, then a tangente, both in various sizes I think. They just didn’t sit right on my wrist, which was probably to do with the absurdly large lugs that stick out from the case. The metro was the only one that came anywhere close to fitting me. However, for the near £3k that they wanted for it, I wasn’t impressed. Ooooo......now that’s nice. I’ve been watching X33’s for a while, but they all seem to go for far too much money for me.
  14. It’s stupidly high, but as soon as it’s was on my wrist it didn’t seen too tall. I have flat wrists, so maybe that helped. Saying that I’d be surprised if it wasn’t over 20mm tall. It it made my Speedy Mark II Look positively dainty.
  15. I think it’s more the angles that I was taking them and the distance I had the phone from the watch. They all all looked like they fitted nicely when I was in there.
  16. It was very high on the wrist, but once it was on I didn’t notice it. It wore much smaller than I thought. Couldn’t believe how light it was. Then again, the proplov had just been on my wrist and that thing is a brute! I was surprised myself. It’s in the top two along with the other Cartier.
  17. Spent a good 2 hours in Ernest Jones in Manchester today. Only went in for a quick look, but was soon trying on stuff I never thought I’d like. The sales guy took us all round the different brands and his suggestions were spot in on. To be honest, I could have bought most of the watches I tried on today, but walked out empty handed with a few decisions to make. Apologies for the poorly focused pictures, and for the wrist shots making the watches look bigger than they were. I must learn to take photos from a greater distance! Here’s a selection of the ones I tried on. Some Cartiers, which I really liked. Some Glashuttes, which were simply stunning. Omega Z33 and a Proplov. They looked huge, but didn’t wear big on my wrist (honest). Then went into the Nomos AD, but was a bit disapointed with them. None of them seemed to sit properly and they all wore bigger than the dimensions would suggest, apart from the Metro which I quite liked. Not sure which one I’m going to go for.
  18. I bought it off someone on TZ-UK. There were here a few on eBay at the time, but for more than I paid. Nope. It’s not a Pepsi bezel. That’s another itch I have to scratch!
  19. Thanks. I was a bit surprised myself that I didn’t like it, but when I took the watch out the box I instantly disliked the whole thing. I had heard loads of positive reviews about the strap as well. It just seemed a bit flimsy and too stretchy for me. When I put it on my wrist it was either too tight or too loose. I couldn’t get it to fit properly. Hopefully I won’t have the same problem the bracelet. I have a birthday coming up and I have dropped up lots of hints about getting watch tools as presents. With any luck I will get one of those chores and be able to sort it mysel.
  20. It looks like I forgot to post this up. I bought it about six weeks ago, but then had to wait four weeks for it to be shipped from the factory in Switzerland, and then sent out to me. It is an Oris diver 65 Deauville blue and grey. I had bought one previously with the black dial and rubber strap, but when it came I hated the rubber strap so it went straight back. It made the whole thing feel cheap and nasty. I then was going to buy the one with the black and dark blue dial ring but I got such a good deal on this one I couldn’t resist. So, 40 mm I think wears really small and is thin as anything else I have. Comes on the bracelet which is really comfortable to wear. It has a lovely Domed crystal which bends The numbers and markers on the dial into weird shapes. Overall I am extremely pleased with it so far, even though I haven’t just had the bracelet yet. The link pins are super stiff, so I don’t want to damage anything yet. It’s a bit of a change from the rest of the watches I have which seem to be much bigger.
  21. I’ve looked at the various Pogue a for a while, but every time I find a good one the price just goes silly! What other rarer ones are about?
  22. I’d been warned that once I started buying Seikos, that I wouldn’t be able to stop. I ignored this believing it not to be true, but I was totally and utterly wrong. I now have Seiko corner in the watch box. Started off off with the Samurai Blue Lagoon, quickly followed by, the then, daily beater, a Seiko 5. Now the baby tuna and orange turtle have arrived. Im up to 4 now, but have been eyeing up something to scratch the Pepsi bezel itch. Obviously a Rolex would be nice, but there’s no way on earth that I will be able to afford it, or get away with it!! After that, maybe go vintage and get a Pogue I think.
