  1. Write a list of all the watches mentioned. Wait until ADs open. Go and try them all. When starting out I went to an AD specifically to buy a SMP300, I was adamant it was the one for me, but I tried it on and something didn’t feel right. Just didn’t have a connection to it. So I saved my money. Bought a Seiko SARB033 to fill the gap of a mechanical movement (display case back is awesome even on a cheaper movement). Now a fair few years down the line I’ve added a Tudor Black Bay and got a Submariner Date waiting to collect. Watches that both felt “right” for me when I put them on the wrist. Try before you buy. Don’t set your heart on a watch til you’ve had it in your hands and worn it. It’s surprising how the watch you think you want may feel different in real life. Happy hunting. 2. I’ve got neither and want both. RIP my wallet. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Congrats on your new piece! I've always loved C.Ward, only negative for me is the big brand name across it (I'd prefer just the logo in the usual place IMHO), but thats their style so it stands out. How thin is it? Looks a lovely piece. Gotta love that trident!
  4. +1 I was going to say the same pair. Sinn 104 is high on my list of wants. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. That’s a good looking timepiece!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Got this on for now. But will be swapping out for a gshock for work. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Congrats! Explorer a lovely watch. Submariner Date for me to collect. So excited. Been told similar, appointment, no-one else in store etc. It'll be a strange experience.
  8. I know a guy that did exactly that. Inherited a wad of cash from grandparents, made no money in ISA accounts, spent it on 4/5 vintage Omega and Rolex. Decent return after a few years.
  9. To be fair you could be right. But I think a lot of ADs have been doing deals over the phone (only reason I got lucky). Suppose they have to weigh up drawing in customers and potentially losing money with a reduced price, or losing money through no custom at all. Definitely think some of the higher end brands will start creeping back up in value (Rolex etc) as the quick sales for fast cash on the 2nd hand market will cease. Could be time to start adding watches to baskets online and seeing what happens. Bloody hope they all open their doors soon though! Itching to pick up my piece. First world problems!!
  10. Put the Tudor back on the bracelet today so i could play around with some splash photography. Not perfect but a bit of fun. Can never decide what I prefer; on the leather or on the bracelet. Disclaimer - no watches were harmed in the making of this image!!
  11. Been speaking to my AD about when they intend to open as I am waiting to collect a new piece. He suggested early to mid-June but that there would be lots of restrictions/adaptations in place (still all to be confirmed by their HQ). I am assuming limited people in the shop, hand washing/distancing etc. As to be expected. As for browsing I doubt that will go back to normal for a long while yet. Should add I personally reckon prices will start creeping back up. Its' been a financial nightmare the last few months, once there is some definitive light at the end of the tunnel the markets will stabilise and prices begin increasing.
  12. After being absent from the forums for too long, I picked up this beauty February. Hoping the image posts! (Fancy photo taken for some photography practice i've been doing)
  13. After a 14 month wait I should be picking up my new Sub Date from the AD as soon as coronavirus lets me. Looking forward to joining the club!! I just harassed my AD every 3-4 months. This time I got lucky and he had one available. Don't know if a lot of people higher up the lists are turning them down due to financial instability during the crisis. He seemed to suggest that there are a few coming out from Rolex. Who knows.
  14. Ironically I tried on a Rhodium Yachtmaster yesterday while getting on another list for a Sub. Didnt like it all. But it's certainly personal preference. I quite like the Planet Ocean, which might be my next purchase after the Sub......I'm about 10 years time Haha. Happy hunting. Sent from my SM-N960F using Tapatalk
