  1. Didn’t know that but makes sense to me. Always thought it was a strange practice! Good to know they’ve seen sense. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Mrs dug the bubbles out the cupboard to celebrate. Love it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. I think it was to do with dissuading flippers. But maybe they've realised that greymarket sellers these days aren't fussed on paperwork anyway. So a bit of pointless process. On the flip-side (pardon the pun) i suppose if you returned for the papers 12 months later without the watch it may indicate a flipper and maybe they can blacklist you? Strange process that may have died out thankfully. Thanks!!
  3. I posted on the WRUW topic earlier but heres the official thread! I was lucky enough to pick up this little gem today. Paid for it during the lockdown at the end of April after spamming my ADs with chaser emails regarding my current position on "the list". I'd got into a bit of routine of touching base every few months. The next day I got an email to ring in urgently.....and 2 months later here we are!! Amazing service. Whilst I didn't get the obligatory glass of bubbles for obvious reasons, they kindly gave me a free gift (Rolex branded leather card wallet) and a letter from the C
  4. Just picked this up from the AD.
  5. Got a Breitling Superocean in the collection that is certified down to 2000feet. There is more chance of me never buying a watch again, than taking any watch deeper than my bath.
  6. As the ADs are beginning to open their doors again I wondered if anybody else is due to collect any new timepieces they ordered during lockdown? What did you pull the trigger on, or what are you likely to purchase in the coming weeks/months. I'm on the 7 day countdown to collect my Submariner Date. Can't wait. I say 7 days, I mean 6 days and 14 hours! Although if i'm being completely honest i'm already looking at adding a Seiko Turtle Save The Ocean to my collection.......I think I have a serious horological addiction!
  7. Thats a great post. Looking through I think Hamilton have rereleased their watch from Live and Let Die. Saw it pop up on instagram recently. Very unusual style.
  8. Write a list of all the watches mentioned. Wait until ADs open. Go and try them all. When starting out I went to an AD specifically to buy a SMP300, I was adamant it was the one for me, but I tried it on and something didn’t feel right. Just didn’t have a connection to it. So I saved my money. Bought a Seiko SARB033 to fill the gap of a mechanical movement (display case back is awesome even on a cheaper movement). Now a fair few years down the line I’ve added a Tudor Black Bay and got a Submariner Date waiting to collect. Watches that both felt “right” for me when I put them on the wrist. Tr
  9. I’ve got neither and want both. RIP my wallet. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Congrats on your new piece! I've always loved C.Ward, only negative for me is the big brand name across it (I'd prefer just the logo in the usual place IMHO), but thats their style so it stands out. How thin is it? Looks a lovely piece. Gotta love that trident!
  11. +1 I was going to say the same pair. Sinn 104 is high on my list of wants. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. That’s a good looking timepiece!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Got this on for now. But will be swapping out for a gshock for work. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Congrats! Explorer a lovely watch. Submariner Date for me to collect. So excited. Been told similar, appointment, no-one else in store etc. It'll be a strange experience.
  15. I know a guy that did exactly that. Inherited a wad of cash from grandparents, made no money in ISA accounts, spent it on 4/5 vintage Omega and Rolex. Decent return after a few years.
