  1. Also interested to see this movement. That watch is a belter!
  2. I could sort his accounts out but I don’t know my ass from my elbow when it comes to watches...do you think that will work in an interview? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Simon - you're a saint. I really appreciate it.
  4. Hi Simon, I've just bought a new strap for my watch which is being delivered in a few weeks time. I've just had delivery of the Bergeon spring bar removes so have taken the current strap off. One of the spring bars is standard and one is flanged and both look questionable so wanted to replace them. When I'm buying them online (I've been looking at HS Walsh), is the size I need relating to the lug width or the length of the spring bar? My lug widths are 16mm, do I order a 16mm spring bar or do I need an 18mm spring bar (the relaxed size of the ones I've taken out) Apologies for the potentially stupid questions, I'm very much a novice! Cheers!
  5. Mach - out of complete curiosity, how many watches do you have?!?!
  6. That's a great story Andy. Do you have any photos of the watch? Isn't it possible to have the missing winder replaced?
  7. Excellent, thanks all, I've dropped him a message.
  8. I’ve just seen Pavs old online shop that doesn’t seem to be running any more but his Instagram has recent posts. Do you have his username on here so I can send him a DM? Thanks [emoji119] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Thanks chaps - will have a hunt around those websites. It looks the choices are endless. I've now youtubed changing straps and can't believe I asked such a stupid question - ignore me.
  10. Hi all. First day off furlough today and back to WFH - mixed emotions overall, I was enjoying no work and 80% pay, however I was starting to get bored. Anyway, back to work also means my 1966 Rolex comes back out. It is currently on the original strap which is well worn. I don't want to totally wear the original strap out as it's a great part of the original watch. I'd like something very similar (tan leather, contrast stitching, gold tang style clasp etc.) to keep the aesthetic of the watch. Where do you guys buy your watch straps from? Any good places to recommend/avoid? I don't want to take it to the AD and have my eyeballs torn out. Next question i suppose is can anyone recommend a tool for changing straps and a useful how to video? Thanks all!
  11. That is a cool looking G-Shock, do you have any more photos? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Best advice yet [emoji108] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. A sign that you shouldn’t buy a watch is that you like it better in the dark. I think all of the markers are too big/obtrusive, nice but not for me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. The clear one is horrible. You’d have to be a man mountain to be able to wear something that big and not look ridiculous. Clearly a very technical and intricate piece but not sure the looks are for me Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. What are the fossil watches like? My father in law has asked for one for his birthday (Bannor model in green) as they’re reduced to £35 on the fossil website. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Looks like watch design is a horny business Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Oh I can’t tell whether I’m disappointed or not. You’re right it is ugly, and I had to look very hard just to work out the time! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Is it just me that sees this as a tad phallic? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. I think if you’re not a watch collector and only have 1-3 watches, then the feeling of unboxing and all the nice packaging is probably more important. I bought my first ever expensive watch earlier this year and I’d have been gutted if it came in a plastic bag and no boxes etc. I think once you have/have had 5+ expensive watches, the novelty will wear off. For me, on a £1k+ watch, an extra £20 on packaging won’t really have an impact on your wallet and makes the experience a lot more special for those who don’t have multiple watches. 20. I am excited and I’m not even getting it ha Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. You’ve made a very good job of that, well played. And a beautiful watch too!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. They make some very “interesting” watches! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. As said above it’s very much personal preference but I love that white one, and like you said you’ve already got a black dialled watch so why not get something different if you really like it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. That’s a corker that one Jim!! Breitling Navitimer for me today. As my mother text me this morning, “Happy Star Trek Day”...[emoji2361] Poor photo - I need a new phone!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
