  1. Brilliant! I'll consider that an endorsement from the NHS [emoji23] Sent from my SM-G965F using Tapatalk
  2. Wow... looks like there a lot more complications available than I first thought [emoji23] amazing what they can think to put on a watch, and then somehow make it work within the constraints of a the case... I can see the allure of some of them on purely an engineering basis, some are rather impressive. Also an interesting point to make about the effort/time to set and adjust the more complex ones. Definitely given me some food for thought here [emoji106] Sent from my SM-G965F using Tapatalk
  3. One of my more established 'hobbies' is having an occasional cigar (less so now in the winter months). Anyone else on here have a collection or enjoy them from time to time?
  4. Yeah that Citizen is a but too busy for me too. I think I seem to be coming down on the side of the 'vintage styling', with a clean and simple dial. I quite like a few old Omega Seamaster and Rolex's I've seen. But also wouldn't mind a date window/3 dial chrono. Looks like I'll just have to get one of each :P... 5. Just curious as to what you guys on here think about the various complications on offer. Do you like as many as you can get? A simple dial with nothing to distract? A handy day/date? Moonphase? Or are there any more leftfield choices/styles? Just looking for ideas/inspiration for my next watch. Personally, I like the idea of a moonphase, although generally pretty useless, it would be a cool extra feature :D I also tend to lean towards a chrono when it comes to aesthetics
  6. Thanks for the ID on that one [emoji106] it spent quite some time in a drawer forgotten about until recently, but holds time well enough so is now the one I just wear to work. And dont worry I'm not that new to watches [emoji23] the Eco-Drive is just there because I have no other autos to fill the slot and it has the window to let some light onto it. 8. Thanks! Theres no sign of any hallmark on the outside, and its does look as though it may be a front loader as you describe. Theres no case 'back' really, it just joins a seam all the way around the watch. It may be worth me giving it a clean up and taking it into somewhere for a quick service. I assume that kind of watch will be well within the skillset of the usual hishstreet jeweller/watch hospital type place? Or may it benefit from someone more specialised in the older stuff? Thanks for the pointer though. Sent from my SM-G965F using Tapatalk
  9. Hi, Im Alex, an aircraft mechanic by trade. I've never really considered or given much thought to watches, although always worn one. Only recently, with a purchase of a Wolf watch winder, have I started to think about buying one (after getting a triple winder despite having only two automatic watches). I usually like to 'nerd out' when I find a new interest, but watches seem a bit of a minefield! So hopefully I can learn a bit more here, and eventually come to a decision for my next automatic watch (although I suspect it won't fall into the same budget as some of you on here!). Anyway,
