  1. Hi all I have been looking for a Bulova Super Seville automatic for a while. Ideally with a modified green , red , blue dial and a steel case NOT GOLD PLATED like ones on eBay but as I'm in the UK the taxes make these unaffordable and I don't really trust them. So does anyone on here have a Bulova Super Seville automatic they would want to sell. Ideally in good condition Steel silver case not gold plated and ideally not a silver dial. many thanks
  2. It's been a few months since my last "haul" so I thought I'd update because its lockdown and I'm that bored Plus I think it might be nice to have them posted somewhere so if someone ends up owning one of them they can see a little of the "history" (if you can call it that). To keep it tidy I won't list absolutely every watch, as I sold a lot and truth be told forgot about them (e.g. Tissot Seven Seastar, 50s Doxa, Lanco etc), just the more recent ones I quite like(d) or still have. I will put an asterisk* by the ones that I've since sold. 1952(?) Tissot Visodate Seller had very lit
  3. Hi guys and girls, A bit of an opinion poll for an isolated Sunday afternoon: Do you have any "must haves" when buying a new watch? Complications? Colours? Calibres? Mechanical or Quartz? Swiss or Japanese? Big boy 50mm or the more classic 40mm? I realise this is a very open question, but let's be honest, we all have a little extra time at the moment. Dive, dress or pilots, what makes a killer watch for you?
  4. Hi I’m getting married soon and want to purchase a watch to wear on the day. I’m looking for a dress watch, nothing bigger than 40mm and aim to spend up to £400. I’ve been looking at vintage Omegas and found some nice ones but wonder if there are any other brands I could be looking for? Any suggestions would be much appreciated! Thanks
  5. Okay so last year I took some time off from watches to focus on other things and recently got back into it. I've decided to start "flipping" watches on the side which means I get all the fun of finding, buying and giving a little TLC without the hoarding! I will resist talking money as I do not think it fair when the plan is to sell on, but obviously the aim of the game is to "buy low, sell high" so all are bought at a fairly low price tag for one reason or another (e.g. low 'buy it now' price or lack of details etc) Anyway, without further adoo: Sicura Chronograph: Man I loved this! 6. Choosed some colorful straps for winter, whats yours ?
  7. I recently joined the forum to try to learn a bit about something that has been itch for some time but has become more of a passion now, watches, more particularly mechanical watches as opposed to the electrically powered quartz watches. I have a Roamer Sam Marino which from some googling and reading around the forum seems to have been produced in small numbers, my ultimate aim with this watch is to bring it back to as near to it's new condition as I can unless it is better to leave it as is. I have owned this watch from new and its had a hard life over the years and so know its his
  8. Another recent restoration...these Smiths Imperial watches were made to impress! How many others are out there? This is an I203 dating to the early 1960s with a cal 0104 19 jewel movement! Impressed with the size of the watch!
  9. Hi just wondering has anyone tried to buy from the tarich watch site, or you have had any problems?
  10. Hey guys, This is my first post here on the forum but I’ve already read some interesting threads. I’m from a small town in Sweden best known for out chocolate factory and together with a couple of enthusiast we set out to start the brand Amant. Our goal was to make durable and versatile dress watches. We’re currently sold on three continents and have reached over 60 countries. We still haven’t received even one international return since our start about 3 years ago. So this year we decided to celebrate by launching something special. A few specs: Movement: ETA 282
  11. Hello Watch Forum users, My name is Jakob Martin, and I have founded the relatively new watch brand Clairette Watches. We started by releasing two models at the beginning of the year and have now introduced two automatic models we intend to release on January 25th. Now we would like to get the feedback from the users of The Watch Forum! We are at the beginning of our journey as watchmakers but feel that we have been successful with our new automatic watches. In the future, we have already started sketching on watches in a slightly higher "premium" segment where we use movements
  12. Got this off ebay, Bulgarian seller. A manual wind Grovana 23 jewels with date. Replaced the strap (Di-Modell Jumbo), looks great (IMHO). Runs well too. Good time-keeper. So far. Info on Grovana is pretty scarce, though. The company's own website has this: "1970 - Werner Bitterli [love that name] takes over Hans Gröflin AG and the name is changed to Grovana Uhrenfabrik AG [...] 1971 - The production of watch movements is gradually being reduced whilst the development of the company’s own collection simultaneously starts under the name of ‘Grovana’." Does anyone know of any
  13. Hi all Im looking for some recommendations on vintage dress watches Nothing expensive £100 is my max I’m not new to buying watches but I’ve never actually owned a dress watch I’ve got a small collection of divers and a number of gshocks but my change of job calls for something more refined than say my Marathon GSAR so if anyone could help me out with some suggestions i would be more than greatful
  14. Hey everyone! I have some renderings for a new watch brand I'm starting up and I need your feedback on it. Our Kickstarter will probably be at about $195, and at $295 USD for retail. Not trying to “disrupt the industry” or anything like that. Just want to provide great customer service (hopefully amazon.com levels of awesomeness), a unique experience, while cramming in the highest quality materials I can fit in our price range. Current specs: - Seiko NH35a automatic movement - Sapphire crystal - Italian leather - Applied Indices - Interchan

  18. Just had my new Sonder Series watch turn up from Made & Dye, got a great discount in their sale too. Bought it for work and looks mint with my Navy suit. What do people think?
  19. I'm 17 and looking to buy my first 'nice' vintage, mechanical dress watch. £600 - £800 ish budget. I have VERY limited experience in the field and would appreciate any guidance and advice you could offer, whether it is on an actual watch or just the culture surrounding vintage pieces. Thanks!
  20. Someone very close to me is retiring after a 21 year military career (with the United States Air Force). I am looking to buy him a pocket watch as his gift. This is what I know I am looking for: 1. He likes the skeleton style 2. He does not want to hand wind the watch 3. I am hoping to not spend over $300- $400 USD. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
  21. So I really like the Hamilton dress watches, mainly the Jazzmaster series but pictures on sales sites are so lacking in visual detail. Any of you guys own a Hamilton dress watch with a black dial preferable and how do you like it? Pictures are also very much wanted. Any hints on where to buy them (from a thrustworthy source) would also be greatly appreciated, I'm in the EU but for the right price the shipping from the USA'd be worth the price.
  22. I wonder if anyone could tell me which model this is, when it was made and a rough estimation of it’s value? Just click on the below to see images. Watch Front Watch Back
  23. Hey everyone on Saturday I ordered a new pocket watch and I would like to know what you think of it. It's my first pocket watch and I am very excited. Look at this link to find a description of it - Thanks A Lot -Roope
  24. Hi, Looking for some thoughts on the pros and cons of vintage vs brand new. Obviously everyone will have their own view, just looking for some hints and tips before I take the plunge for a new watch. Looking to send between 500/700 GBP. Looking for an automatic, reasonably smart dress watch. My thoughts on buying new are - should work perfectly, guarantee of purchase, wide selection (but unable to afford the premium brands), For vintage my main concern would be condition. Would it need serviced? How accurate will the time keeping be? But the plus points being able to (maybe) buy
