First Vintage Watch Buys

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I am completely new to the world of horology. This is a new hobby for me and I have just bought my first two watches. These are definitely not high end watches. I bought them very cheap as a starting/learning point.

The first is a Andrew The Hatton - Automatic - Running...terribly

The second is a Ingersoll - Missing crown, underneath the scratched crystal the dial looks in pretty good condition.

I am wonder if anybody knows more about these watches and or manufactures? I believe there around the 1950's/60's period.

I have been able to polish up the crystals to a better condition however the 'Andrew' would probably best be replaced.

Which one would be best to get serviced?

Thanks for any responses.

HI

I have just come across your post and saw you had mentioned a "Andrew the Hatton" watch that caught my attention because i was looking at a rather fine example today on the Etsy site advertised as 1950s.

It has a seventeen jewel unadjusted swiss movement marked "AMIDA"
