Not my bit Mach.......hardly ever see snow....if it does it doesn't settle. Move South Mach :partytime:

I`ve lived in & visited various parts of mainland UK - North, South, East & West (including the Southwest), no offence - but I have no intention of ever again crossing the border grin_zpshp57z7iw.gif

I'd be straight up over the border of it wasn't for some absurd laws (although there are also brilliant ones which put English law to shame) and the fact I don't speak Scottish :(

As  I mentioned  earlier - I`ve lived  in, and visited, various parts of the UK & have found most of the locals have a hard time understanding what  non-locals are saying (& vice-versa), even of those living a few miles apart

Q&D pic from three bought this morning fighting @Padders and @Thomasr for scant bargains at the Solihull watch collectors fairs

20160717_151711_zpsqntommqh.jpg

1976 Glashutte World Time, 1970 Seiko ladies 18k gold filled 1104A3120 and 1971 (from inscription) Hefik 9k presentation watch with case.  I set off to buy 80's and 90's watches, and DEFINITELY NO MORE 1970's watches as I already have enough.

Failed again

The last two watches I bought were brand new but at a massively discounted price - the remaining watches from a sale at Inspired of Eastbourne. The shop was moving away from a couple of brands, to make room for new stock, and I bought a stainless steel Timberland Back Bay watch and a gorgeous steel and rose gold-plated Guess calendar watch with a blue dial and denim and leather blue strap. The prices were ludicrously low and I just couldn't resist - I am now wearing the Timberland, which is a well-styled and well-made bit of kit.

Timberland Back Bay stainless steel and leather quartz watch. This is exactly the model I now have, though it does come in different colourways. The quality seems to be pretty good and the price was reduced from £115 to £35 (pic from ep.yimg.com):

1. Bremont (Martin Baker) MB111, bought during a 50% off sale at Pendulum, Bremont's AD in Bangkok.

2. Ancon Challenger, from Saggio watches, a Bangkok bricks and mortar and online dealer, that specialises in smaller brands, including bronze watches:

3. C60 Trident direct from a Christopher Ward 25% off sale, plus no VAT, plus free international shipping, making it too good to resist. Duty for shipping the watch into Thailand cost 3p! Seen here on a Pav strap.

Pickings were indeed thin on the ground at the fair today. After a pleasant chat with @scottswatches and being given a rather fetching birthyearwatches.com t-shirt by the same pillar of the forum, @Thomasr and I got desperate and after about 3 more laps of the place spotted a couple of Omegas we liked look of. Here is the one I picked up and I am pleased to say I really like it, it works fine and is rather classy, like an X33 in an evening suit:

I have one too, and this instruction manual came in very handy.  Nice pick up

Cheers! I am a little worried to note that the battery life on them is reckoned at less than 2 years but that aside I really like it. The fact that it is 38mm instead of the normal mid-size 36mm helps a bit too. Not bad for a desperation buy!
