Lots of nice autos in this week, some from members of this parish ( and another due in today)

But for now this

C1958 Vulcain

c1958 Vulcain.  ETA automatic inside, stainless steel case and screw on case back. Nice and simple, and my first Vulcain

My thanks to Stephen @Morris Minor for helping me date this timepiece, along with his excellent blog on 'Citizen Jet Rotor Automatics'

Also to Chris @bridgeman for directing me to the link.

I was fortunate to acquire one of these scarce examples as Citizen ceased production after a couple of years due to the high cost of production.

That's a really interesting thing. Can you repost the link about these jet rotors please?

Looks in great nick, a proper collectible!

Yes, I know it`s not mechanical, but the style is a wee bit similar to the Steinhart, well to my eyes at least

I'm wearing my 6309 custom diver today - just fitted a new stem & crown to it so thought I'd give it a run out. I've had the watch ages & modified it myself many years ago. It's one of my favourites & I've never, ever contemplated selling it. Even though it's obviously modified all the parts are Seiko - dial, hands, shabby chic bezel insert & movement (which is now a hacking/Kanji day date 6306).- the strap is a Toshi & a beautiful chestnut brown. It's working well & keeping good time & it's nice to be able to set the time without the crown getting harder & harder to turn. I think the gasket in the crown was knackered & binding against the case tube - I've kept the original sprung loaded crown/stem & will probably try to change the crown gasket later on.

:)

First few days back at work in my new job proper, they gave me a desk and a funny thing that looks like a proper computer and expect me to work it.

Turns out my new Boss is an Excel spread sheet maniac, he has a spreadsheet for everything and some and spits out pie charts and graphs on an hourly basis.

Anybody got a spare copy of "Excel for Dummies" they dont need.

GMT today
