Seiko SNXS77 Price War

Recommended Posts

A bit of a price war seems to have broken out between a couple of Amazon sellers over the classic Seiko 5 SNXS77.

GB Watchshop and Watchnation have been making small tit-for-tat price reductions several times a day for the past few days and the price currently stands at around £49. This is the lowest it's been in the UK for a couple of years.

It will be interesting to see who blinks first and how low it will go.

I've got the same watch I paid £48 pre owned but to be fair there wasn't a mark on it . I use it as my beater on a velcro strap

Just read some reviews, not good, will pass

thanks for the heads up though

Hmm, one star because it gained two minutes in four week's. That's less than five seconds a day. Disgraceful, it should have been at least fifteen. :laughing2dw:

And another low rating because the watch stopped working after a few years of working perfectly!  You have to wonder about some people.

Had one for a little while and very happy with it.

great price, as you say how low can they go?

Well it looks like that was the low point. One of the protagonists ran away (or sold out) so the victor instantly jacked the price up again.

£49? For an auto from Seiko?

That's a deal and make no mistake. What's the alternative? A Chinese fashion watch for £70+

Or more likely the result of a load of new old stock in their storeroom tying up capital that they couldn't shift at full price.

Well it seems the war is back on! :bash:

Having retreated to lick their wounds, Watchnation have rallied the troops, regrouped and charged back into the fray.

The price is back down to £55 and dropping.

Will someone pass me the popcorn....... :rltrlt:

These are basic entry level Seiko's adhering to the five basic Seiko principles for their watches.  Nothing wrong with them and I had one for 15 years which I wore every day and eventually donated to charity in India.

To be honest you can do a lot worse if you're looking for a sub £50 auto. Only thing that puts me off having one is the crown at 4.   Mine had the crown at 3 which is far preferable to me.
