A picture of the movement would help to ascertain what type of mechanism you have.

You say it's a keywind from the back - could it be a fusee movement? Something along these lines?IMG_2031.JPG.7fda066e323369093b958503fa05438a.JPG

We really need a picture of the front and back of the movement. The old mainspring can be measured along with the Barrel internal diameter, but need to know what movement to be able to supply a set of Pallets. Is the Escape wheel sitting very close to the Balance? Does the axle of the Balance look like a silver cylinder? If so is has no Pallet as the Escape wheel is in direct contact with the Balance. ( Cylinder Escapement). Pictures,PicturesPictures. Lol

To measure the mainspring. You need the know the Height ( width) in millimetres. The Force( thickness) and the internal Barrel diameter. As you say above is 17. Express your size measurements as Height x Force x Barrel Diameter(17) Try to acquire a spring that is silver in colour and not blue.

As you don't have a spring as a pattern look at the inside wall of the barrel. You will see a ledge that the Barrel Cover sits on, measure from the base of the ledge down the inside to the bottom of the barrel wall ( should be 1.90 to 2.60 ish) subtract 0.10mm from that reading and that will give you the height needed. A force of 17 should drive that watch.

So for your watch we have a spring size:  Height= ........ X. 17. X. 17

Before you buy a spring lets see those pictures or you maybe waiting money on the spring.

hope this helps.

The Height looks like 2.50mm so i guess 2.40 with 0.10 taken off

if calculated right i get 693.6
