My mum's old Oris today.  Yes, I know it's a ladies watch, but the style and size are a good match for similar gents watches from the 1920's right up to the 1950's so the fit works pretty well I reckon.

The portrait (yes, that is my mum) was done by an Italian POW circa 1943 when she would have been about 7 or 8 years old.

Wearing my fathers only watch as we wait for the time to lay him to rest 14.30pm.

A sad day but no more pain.

This today, my latest and very cheap purchase! Having just spent a little while cleaning off 60 odd years worth of accumulated grime and filth it's cleaned up rather well I think, well the case has anyway! The dial needs restoration and the crystal's cracked but the movement's lovely, I was expecting to find it a corroded mess, most surprised! Just binning the ghastly expanding metal bracelet that was on it improved matters no end! :)
