That's quite a simplistic formula for the cost of a service. :laughing2dw:

It's proper Rolex maths, and like other Rolex maths has no formula or calculations to back it up. Just wack on another 10% to keep the residuals strong

I too would just go for the basic service ^^^. The majority of my collection is pre-owned, I like 'old tat' to show that it's had a life (but functions correctly)!  Anyway, the three bob (15p

I've decided to send my LV off to get serviced, after my failed attempt last weekend Goldsmiths is reopening next week so I'm going to drop it off.

I'm not really interested in worth at the moment but I won't be taking it to the grave with me so it will eventually get sold to contribute to that last party.

So with that in mind, basic service or a full refurb.

I can't make my mind up. And before the uninformed start banging on you do get a choice and no I won't send it to an indie just to save three bob.

Thoughts

:)

I've just had a thought. Are you replacing the bezel? I can't remember if yours is a flat 4 or not but if it is, hang the feck on to it. LVs with flat 4 are topping £29k apparently

Whether they actually sell for that or not I have no idea but that's what some chancers are asking.

The bezel insert won't be replaced.

The early ones are going for crazy money. No rhyme or reason to it at all. If I had even got a bit of my money back on mine I'd of been smiling. As you say whether they are selling at the asking prices is another story all together but hey ho.

I would consider using Duncan at Genesis for a service but if you're selling I can understand why you might choose Rolex.

I haven't been on here for a long while but remember your observations on the LV when it's value for c£5k max! Strange times for certain watches.....
