36mm Super Compressor

Recommended Posts

Hi, I have a 36mm Super Compressor manufactured by Rodania, however I understand all cases were produced by EPSA and then used by a variety of watch manufacturers.

I have some crazing on the face of the crystal (not really noticeable and only in bright sunlight) and also fogging where the glass meets the case at 12.  The crazing I am guessing is age and the fogging is either damage or glue, not sure how the glass on this watch is held in.

I am looking to get the glass replaced so can anyone suggest the best route for this?  I am guessing the glass may not be the easiest part to get hold of so a UK watchmaker that another member has had success with or is know to work on Super Compressor's would be appreciated.

There is a glass supplier on fleabay in Cyprus so I may source the glass and then send it to a UK watchmaker, again anyone have experience of a glass supplier for the Super Compressor.

The other option is to leave it as it is, as I have been happy with the watch whilst I have been wearing it, although the longer I leave it, I suspect the harder it will become to get another glass....

And as is customary on a watch forum, a few pictures of the watch :)

If the crystal is original, best is to have it polished, otherwise a new replacement can be considred and then there is the question of how much you want to spend. NOS sternokruetz crystal is high or highest quality and if you can come up with the size I check  my bag of tricks.

You would need a crystal lift to remove/ replace the crystal with.
