Practical to repair?

Hi all,

I'm just looking for a little advice; I have a 3 year old Seiko SRP553 which has started to run erratically; it regularly needs handwinding and often loses time during the night. I believe that these movements, 4R36, have had problems with the mainspring mounts.

Is it worth repairing? I love the watch but I've no idea of repair costs and it wouldnt take much to make it eneconomical to repair.

Can anyone recommend a repairer?

Thanks for your help!

For me it would depend on how much I like the watch, if I am attached to it particularly then I would repair it almost regardless of cost. The only person who can really decide is yourself but it also depends if you can find someone you trust to do the work for you.

i have only been a member for a couple of days but I have read a lot of the site and the name mentioned by @JoT top up a lot and are highly regarded, I've not come across anyone complaining about them.

Good luck

Noj
