I am going to buy my first proper pocket watch, huge mistake I know as I will soon need 50 more :)

anyway I was thinking of something like a 1950’s Smiths, would that be an inexpensive and decent starting point? About £25-£30 ish I think the ones I have seen are.

Any advice gratefully received

Thank you for that, those movements are a thing of beauty aren’t they, just amazing engineering

Always remember to allow for the price of a service when considering buying, which can easily be greater than the purchase price of the watch. It's worth having a look at new Tissot mechanical pocket watches, sometimes a good deal can be had. Good luck.

Do appreciate the help, you have commented on a few things I have asked and I am very grateful, I am far from expert on anything watch related, I just know what I like
