Can't adjust the time on one of my Rotary watches

Recommended Posts

This is a first for me. I'm up a little earlier than usual so I thought I'd set my watch, wind it and set it aside for when I leave for work. I noticed I'd set it 5 minutes fast, went to adjust the time but can't.

When I try, the cogs just spin and nothing happens.

It's a skeleton face watch so I can see that much.

Is it possible that the watch needs to expend more energy before allowing me to change the time? Or is it likely something has popped out of alignment? I've never had this problem before and the watch is only 3 months old.

It's a Rotary GS90506/06.

Thanks!

Also to note, when I unscrew the crown and pull it out, it does not stop the watch.

This is quite common with automatic watches and doesn't indicate a problem. Some "hack" (i.e. the second hand stops when setting the time) and some do not.

I had a look for a manual for this model but couldn't come up with anything. Good luck getting it sorted. Hopefully it is still under warranty.
