Good morning all. I've only just joined this forum as, to be honest, I didn't know you existed until a Google search found it for me last night, so apologies for that.
I live in North Manchester and still work for a living though have been trying to retire for the last few years. I don't want to alter my lifestyle too much though, so the job has to stay a bit longer. I'm a member on a couple of other watch forums, though I don't really get the time to get on them as often as I did. I'm also involved in a couple of UK based car forums as well, mainly for the social aspect and the meet ups around the country.
I've been interested in watches for a few years now, collecting them a bit more seriously for the last 10 or so. I don't have any particular preferences in makers, although I must admit to owning more Rolex than any other brand. These vary in styles though are basically all steel "sports watches" apart from a bi-metal Daytona. I also have a few Omega, from a very early Seamaster to the obligatory Speedmaster Pro, and a mixed bag of other weird and wonderful things including some strange Russian ones which I love.
I've not joined up to get access to the sales section as none of mine are, or ever will be, for sale. In fact I tend to avoid sales sites as the prices tend to upset me, and I've promised myself I'm not buying any more watches this year. (I made the same promise to myself last year and still bought 2, but they were special) There is actually one watch which I'm looking for at the moment though and, if I find it, I'll probably break my promise again. I've purposely not mentioned what it is as there are a lot of variants of it and I need to do a bit more homework first before the final decision is made.
Off to browse your forum now and hope I can learn something. Oh, and I promise not to ask silly questions without searching for answers firstly.
