Best Seiko Diver for £300

Fancy a Seiko diver. Don’t mind new or used. But I’m not really familiar with the models. For a budget of £300 what would be the best model I could get, both spec and build wise please?

For this budget can I get a Turtle of any kind? Or am I being unrealistic? Or would I be better off looking at an SKX007/SKX009?

Cheers in advance

When it come to all the Seiko numbers I haven't a clue.

It's got 4R36 - 05H0 on the case back.

There are just too many. Heck you can get a turtle for that kind of money. SKX are impossible to best as well, but I much much much prefer the 4r movements over the 7s.

Silly question. I’m assuming that the main difference between this and a normal turtle is size?

Yes, if I recall it's a 1mm difference, bring 44mm instead of 45. I could be mistaken, but pretty sure.

Slightly over your budget new, I paid £340 new but you might pick up a pre owned one for a bit less.

I actually managed to get this brand new from an authorised dealer for £300. They were very good, I showed them a jeweler online that were doing it for that price in a sale and they matched.

Love the watch too so very pleased

You might think, "oh it's only 100M", but in my book, that's enough. It's the minimum requirement, enough to swim and do most water activities, thus it's up to diver quality to me. And a mini Turtle case to boot. Admittedly, though, it's not got the necessary rotating bezel to be an actual diver, so it can't actually be classified as such.

To add to this ... perhaps source one of the rarer US-only market Mako Divers with the higher spec... will save a bit , not as much as £150 but same sentiments-ish.

Do you have any more details on these US models please? Ie model numbers/spec differences. Cheers
