I wore this yesterday for the first time in ages,

large.20180624_063835_kindlephoto-968499.jpg.144842cfb978fff37e07c16d1150b0f2.jpg

and this hasn't been on for, ahem, four years.

So time for a cull perhaps, keeping the good stuff and use it of course.

What have you got that deserves more time on the wrist ?

My Tudor BB only comes out say once a month, same for my D Hodge 2824F.

both relatively expensive (for me) but they feel special so don't want to wear them all the time or they may lose some of their appeal. Not wearing watches is a good thing.

This might sound stupid but I wear my Oris Aquis on a v regular basis, despite being expensive (again, for me), it's built like a tank so have absolutely no qualms in wearing it for almost any situation.

That's truly beautiful @WRENCH!

I'm selling the ones I just don't wear enough. My Marine Master SpringDrive, Oris BC4 Flight Timer, and Tissot PRS 200 Auto Chrono. I think I'll soon put up my Victorinox Air Boss as well.

I also don't wear my Doxa very often, but I don't wear much orange and it is my primary grail piece so I'm likely not to ever get rid of it.

Sadly, the majority of my collection rarely sees the light of day as I usually stick to the same few favourites worn in rotation.

The one that bothers me the most is the Longines Admiral HF, 1972 Munich Olympics commemorative edition.  I very nearly put it on this morning but couldn't be bothered to dig it out... until now, thanks to this thread :)

Another is this Bulova Accutron Astronaut which has been needing repair for many years!  I finally got around to sending it off about a week ago so, fingers crossed, it'll be back on-wrist shortly.

I only have 30 watches, and I do make a point of wearing them bar half-a-dozen which are more curios on display on my mantleshelf.  The ones I don't wear so much, but which I should like to, are the watches that don't have shock protection, like my Strela.  I should have got a re-issue with the seagull movt to wear on the wrist, but then I did get the 'Agent' clean dial version 3133, which everyone loves.

In reality, I should probably cull the ones I do wear, and just wear this all the time (which sits in the cupboard mostly) at least I can read the date!:

To be fair I try to rotate all of my watches on a regular basis with one exception. Like @Jonesinamillion I own a D Hodge and it is only worn occasionally as it feels really special to me.

@WRENCH you sir have some very nice watches there but I love that I seem to see you wearing far less expensive watches as well! Personally, I’d be wearing the Explorer all the bloody time. Love them but sadly will never own one.

Unfortunately this topic describes most of my collection and as i work away from home and only get back every 2 weeks  it will take me well over a year to go through them all so sadly i am slowly coming to the conclusion that quite a few will have to go, i think ,possibly, no thats right they will have to go, maybe

this will possibly include

I stopped there as it was getting way too depressing

I fell for a white faced Seiko 7T62 with slim silver hands, which I can't see without glasses. That's my third chronograph with silver hands I can't see. Lessons will be learned.

I wear most of my watches (don't see a point in having them and not using them), have a rotation schedule for them (how sad is that ), keep to it although on certain occasions will change if I'm doing something or going out for meal etc, but have a few I don't wear, which haven't quite fitted into my plans as I thought they would when I bought them, Plus since finding this forum, I have to admit my tastes have changed a bit too. As early retirement is just two months away (less disposable income), have decided on what shape my collection should look like and what I really want to keep/add and what to give away/sell.

I tend to have a five year rule. Any watch that doesn't get worn in this time gets sold with the exception of three (Omega SMP, Rolex Daytona and my Zenith moon phase grail) . Seems to work but has meant losing some real gems like

Lol well the last one was a large gift, but I just thought it was right at home with Davey. Sadly I was mistaken but he asked if it was alright to offer for trade or sale out of respect and I appreciated. It wasn't doing me any good and so I guess I just wanted to be nice. But even nice has it's limitations, so I'm selling the others. Lol
