Good grief, a Bremont I like. Nice well put together watch, without any of the usual gimmick nonsense.

Bremont Broadsword.  40 mm. Of course, had it been 36mm, and no date, it would have been close to perfect. :laughing2dw:

Broadsword haha, reminds me of the good old Ford Probe.

Decent looking watch though.

I love my Bremont Solo even at 43mm.

Complete this sentence.

Of course, had it been 36mm ... the hands would have been the right length.

Yes, Jason is really fit.  Speaking for a friend.

@Nigelp I have had to do your job this evening, I find you are slacking in your puerility drive lately

That certainly is nice. I haven't paid much attention to Bremont in the past but if they have more along these lines I might be more interested in them.

Agreed, that is quite nice. Tough looking military watch without any uneccessary bits of 'historic' shrapnel embedded in the case.

And also agree that a few mm smaller would make it a 'must-have'.

I've tried a couple of Bremonts now and both, although nice enough, just didn't have the spark about them to be keepers. Size was an issue mostly.

I still think they're wildly overpriced new but used prices seem pretty fair.

Tried an s501 on today, a VERY impressive timepiece.... For three and a half grand I'd have loves a swanky deployant clasp instead of a buckle tho!

Going to quote myself for detail....

The case is sublime, very thick and lovely black inserts (?) o the side of the case. The crown and crown guard assembly is one of the finest I've seen personally. The movement is highly decorated and in clear view. It has an unassuming escape valve , nice touch but absolutely no use to me.

The dial is plain, uncluttered and unnasuming, brown leather strap and buckle are lovely but I'd want or expect a deployant.

This is now very high on my "to do" list but the price is steep... Future classic? The brand has come on lightyears in only a decade.

I do not want to be rude or disrespectful to the company, but aren't the watches too optimistically priced for ETA based ones?

Cheers

Yes and no.

Compared to brands like IWC they are in and around the money.

Compared to brands that use in house movements then they are over priced.....

But they are decent watches and can be got for around 15-20% discount which is mandatory since there secondary value is worse than a Peugeot that been rear-ended.

Thanks for the reply. I didn't`t know you can bargain in the AD for discount.

Silly money for a run of the mill watch, basically.

the voice of reason, at least unlike @WRENCH you have avoided the problem with fence sitting nostalgia and @JonnyOldBoy 's bum (and quietly deflected the rainbow nato? Which seems to be doing the rounds and upsetting @Igerswis)

Thank goodness.

but again i agree i would not want a watch cobbled together with a meaningless name without history only the floor board or skeletons in its back.

Thank you Roger. You are like me.
