I am in the middle of reburbing a vintage Accurist but have been abit heavy handed in taking out the crown /stem assembly I have pushed the stem release button in too far so now the crown will not stay in. Is this an easy fix.

Yes, is an easy fix. You will have to remove the dial. If your not sure I will do it for you.

Thanks Simon. I have managed to take off the hands and dial and have fixed the issue. My question is now, when I put the hands back on where do I place them so that the date turns on the correct day.

Pull the crown into the handset position and turn until the date changes. Now fit hands at 12
