From the original Swiss makers comes this 38mm aluminium-cased Festina, probably '50s and with a 17j ETA 1120. From altogether more innocent times when the choice of performance enhancers was between a bowl of porridge or a chocolate bar, both if you were lucky, and long before the infamous Tour de France "Festina Affair" in 1998.
Nowadays, Festina is Spanish-owned and, last time I looked, their cycling-themed watches were being promoted by, in the company's words, their "esteemed ambassador Richard Virenque". Not a little ironic, perhaps.
