Friday 9-8-19 WRUW?

Recommended Posts

Morning,

Sneaking in amongst all your other lovelies, today I’ve gone for this simple (i.e. boring) Salvest from the 1960s.

The watch was made in Germany by Blessing (Est. 1940) known mainly for their small alarm clocks, plenty of which still seem to survive today. This one runs on the humble, and correspondingly cheap, Franco-Swiss 1j Cattin C66, seemingly Blessing’s movement of choice for their wrist watches.

The Salvest brand name was first registered in 1954, initially for one of their many clock models but subsequently used for their watches side-line before the Blessing doors finally closed in 1977.

Regards.

New arrival, and for a change a brand new watch

2019-08-09_11-40-17

at 37mm case and 18mm lugs it is a nice compromise between vintage looks and size but modern simplicity

The weather is dismal & very wet again  so these seem appropriate wrist wear...

Edit, I forgot to mention that we have got to go down to the shops & the car is in the garage having some work done..

It looks like we`ll be getting rather damp..

this was a remainder sale, the only one on offer, as the model is discontinued.  I think they no longer do the 37mm size either.

Looks very nice and described exactly how the ex wife described me.

This nice and light little gem for the aching wrist today.

That would have been a good deal. Although I wouldn't have bought one, even if I'd seen it. Buying new seems too sensible and easy.
