Morning,

This oddball from the 1950s has, I suppose, two claims to fame. Firstly, it was made by Franz Grassl of Austria, not a country normally associated with watchmaking and, naturally enough, Herr Grassl has left no horological ripples. Secondly, this one runs on the date version of the rare French-made 25j HP 1901, Parrenin’s only auto movement which was quickly binned due partly to its thickness, but mainly due to the fragility of its under-engineered rotor post which was susceptible to fracture. Not a success.

The curious sweep seconds hand is original, and was either stolen from Tinkerbell or perhaps was meant to signify the sun orbiting the Earth, thereby confirming that the earth is flat  -  something I’ve always known anyway.

Regards.

New one (used but new to me) in today. Fresh from the Post Office!

I will be posting a thread shortly to invite comment from the esteemed ranks of TWF.

I reckon this one might split opinion (assuming at least a few of my brothers agree its a decent watch lol), being a 'fashion brand' :)6855bf423e6f43282f4d7461da1f2b80.jpg4bff90053f7bdeff0cb51054dcc5852e.jpg

no you got the wrong end of the stick he is an artist and sat there with an easel (painting his bathrooms)

Image result for artists easel

he specialises in

nudes

Image result for artists nude

hence his focus on bathrooms.

if we are unlucky he might do a self potrait on a big roll of wall paper. A really big one.
