Punching Above Their Weight

Recommended Posts

My thirty-five quid Henry fits the bill. We have shoe boxes full of cheap designer watches, of them all like their shirts I rate Armani as being decent watches for the price point ........

But back in the day when they were in most jewellers windows I always fancied a Henry London, just something about them I liked the look of.

Have you got something that belays their price tag.

1982 NOS last year from a retired watchmaker in Italy!

(The top one is NOS that I bought my daughter for her 18th, the one on the bracelet is my 18th present still ticking!)

Some Orients like Ray 2 and Mako 2 but watches keep going up and look more and more expensive for what you get to my eyes anyway

The US edition of the most recent Mako is just about the best watch-for-the-money there is ....

I rate the movement accuracy also. I have a Ray 2 and I regulated it myself with a screwdriver only and got it to 3 sec a day fast.

Im chuffed to bits with that so far as long as it keeps that up....

Steinhart seems to offer good value for the money.

Great Watches and plenty of bang for buck.

Similar like many others but not a look a like imho.

Buying my watches used, most of them punch above what I paid for them, and if they don't, they're disposed of. An almost mint Invicta fauxlex for £15 was a highlight.

I bought a solar Casio Edifice for £60, not expecting much, and have been surprised how well made it is. It's now one of my favourite watches.
