Had 7 more G Shocks delivered today; this was my favourite on a rubber strap and currently on my wrist for the rest of the day:

Morning,

Liberated last week from the dark recesses of a tiny bric-a-brac shop in Central Europe comes today’s ex-GDR bit of nonsense, this 1950s UMF.

With its surprisingly large (12.5’’’) Thiel/UMF 54-31, an agricultural movement totally unacquainted with any jewels whatsoever.

Regards,

Circa 2004 Tissot 870. I binned the beads of rice and stuck it on a hirsch croco. 15d28f57a52ca19134a0164ca8384436.jpg

Not quite the Russian Woodpecker, but watch off when working inside electronics.

Only went in to change the power lead to something fabric covered and a little safer. Turns out what I believe to be a wax filled capacitor has chucked its guts all over the bottom of the case. Manual-parts-soldering iron to come.
