A watch doesn't have to be expensive to look pretty

Recommended Posts

Recently sold a vintage Citizen, and had money burning a hole in my pocket. I think the watch below is pretty stunning, especially with the new blue strap I have put on it. 316L crafted case, sapphire window, ceramic bezel, a Seiko quartz movement with a sweeping chrono hand. Any other pretty cheapies out there ?

Although I have a few Cheap Chinese watches which match being "pretty cheapies", including another version of the Parnis Daytona you've pictured, and like them all, but I would have to pick my Orient "Symphony"  FER2700CW0 (Cal-48743) as the prettiest bargain I have, Big Brand, in-house movement and really pretty, especially sparkles in the sun and it cost me £60.

Was my favourite watch for many years until a "watchmaker" destroyed it. :(

£14 new.

In my experience , "expensive" watches never look "pretty". They look "expensive" [ with the obvious exception of U-Boat and Hublot ... but of course that goes without saying ]

In Germany we would say, expensive watches look "shiny" , the design is not better than "cheaper" watches. If you look at Audi who shares a lot of parts with Skoda, s.o. may ask the same question...

Agree about uboat, but the Hublot classic fusion is pure class.

Not the full Hublot wearing pro but I used to be a bit handy at five a side so I went for a U-Boat.

A £50 Copy/Fake/Homage will do the same job as a £30K piece to the Uninitiated....but the question is are you trying to impress others or yourself..
