Dedicated to Mr. Breedlove, US speed fiend and record breaker, this is the aptly named Shinola erm... Velocity? Thruster?  Lighting? Jetstream?  NO!  It's the Shinola Rambler!  Obvs.

Snailing and gold chatons from GUB? And a larger than average balance!

Few more (blued) screws and some stripes and it would be there

Lovely.

Morning,

Today it’ll be a run out for this 1960s Onsa, they of flamboyant advertising campaigns during their not-very-low-profile existence before the “quartz tsunami” shrunk them to marketing only within Switzerland and ultimately their sale to a new owner who nowadays seems to hold the name as a sales and marketing business for various fashion brands.

This one runs on a 17j Peseux 320 and was bought some years ago from one of the many small units in a Central European indoor market where high rents mean a depressingly high turnover of individual traders. One week a unit is selling handmade crafts and, the next, it’s become a hipster bar.

“My” unit had been selling assorted collectables with one small display cabinet of watches, so back I went a few days later to look at the rest of them, some of which, in retrospect, probably had some potential. Packed up, empty and gone. And although the trader remains gone to this day, at least I managed to get one relative goody before he disappeared.

Regards.

Not at this time of year, Sir.

I worked almost ten years in the country, and can testify that the short sleeved formal shirt, worn with a suit and tie is normal business attire in summer.

Not easy here, as our tailors don't seem to stock smart short sleeved shirts.

Fossil Q Hybrid for me today.  This one gets quite a bit of wrist time, not for all the Bluetooth functions (they are pretty pointless) but just because I really like the look of it:

Thank you , still looking for an 'unadulterated/original' Cal 28 (A. Lange & Sohne) model.

Snailing ? = Colimacon.

Some time ago I did post a topic on various types of watch decoration, hopefully they were/are of some useful reference ?

Thank you for the referral

I assume you have let you man Carruthers have a short holiday, and are having to post to the forum in person. I would have expected "colimaçon" otherwise

However, I'm afraid I know it as "Sonnenschliff".

Sadly, it’s why I don’t post topics anymore. :(

There was never enough room for books in the ‘Vardo’ when growing up.
