Morning,

Dating from c.1970, it’ll be this Helbros Electric today, and which runs on the 7j Porta (PUW) Elechron 1001 electro-mechanical movement as seen here:  http://www.ranfft.de/cgi-bin/bidfun-db.cgi?10&ranfft&1&2uswk&PUW_1001

The Helbein Bros history is well documented and whilst some contend that the company was solely a USA/Swiss operation, my few examples are all of West German origin which would suggest otherwise,

Regards.

Technically rubbish, but how can't you love it?

Perfectly serviceable and the screw crown is quite interesting, technically, compared to other space-age screw crown technologies.

Yep, another Zenith today. Manual wind again, this one's a 2562.

Lovely Zenith. Looks like a decent size case as well.  The two I had during my `Vintage ' phase were quite small by today's fashions.

I think you do your watch a disservice, actually technically the Amphibia is an excellent innovation,
please check out the links: one, two

with a couple up for the chop (realised im not wearing my 8j41 - to dressy or my calatrava style seiko 5 - because its a 5 which makes no sense i know), that leaves me with 4 wearers at the moment all of some significance to me at least....the two very 70's seiko automatics (not 5's) and the two very 70's seiko quartz both early enough to be interesting and at each ends of the scale (king and QZ)....

Thanks :)

It's 36mm - pretty much the sweet spot for this kind of watch IMO...
