My brain auto-corrected that to Gravy Master - that's like the Lancashire version of Saucier!

Morning,

Just about as French as the Frenchest French thing could be, today it’s this steel-cased Vatelrup from the 1940s and made by Marcel Ruprecht of Villers-le-Lac.

Runs on the old version of the 17j Cupillard 233 first seen in the year dot (well, the 1930s) and is still spookily accurate.

Regards.

Good morning all

The elves are feverishly working to get everything ready so split second accuracy is vital.

WW1 (Made 1914) Elgin Watch 15 Jewel Movement.

A bonny watch that keeps time rather well for being around 105 years old.

All the best guys, have a great Christmas day.

thats lovely, but an example of what you get when you get a dyslexic watch maker who wants to call his watch nigel

David Boettcher of Vintage Watch Straps

I bought two watch straps from him, and, his website has a huge amount of info on old watch brands and technical stuff.

Really good quality straps, lots of choice of leathers to choose from.

The Turtle on a 1939 ammo strap made from a Swiss cavalry gunsmiths packsaddle from 1939

Lovely strap and great service off a seller on the bay down in Norfolk. It should be good for another 100 year, it makes the turtle wear nice and firm with no movement at all, ive got it on the smaller buckle at the moment

Well, I seem to remember from my time in Blaenau Ffestiniog that the Sun hardly makes an appearance  at this time of year , you really should get a torch
