1967 £165 Rolex Datejust 1601

My original 1016 Explorer cost me next to nothing second hand in 1975, and it was a "watch" nothing else.

It's ok having a bit of fun and banter, but really, I don't care about perceived value of what any one has on their wrist.

You started on the xmas booze early. :rolleyes:

I think you did...   By making the stupidest post ever.

As an answer to a forum post asking for opinions goes "why answer such a question" is as useful as a chocolate teapot.

Either it doesn't matter in which case do something else or you are interested in which case disregarding others opinions is extremely arrogant.

Which of course is correct, but sadly seem to generate more traffic than anything of genuine interest.

I think Oris represent good VFM too.

Still want us me but I don't think Bremont offer good value

Yes sorry forgot about Oris decent brand and good VFM agreed.

Bremont are stunning watches and you can see they are trying punch above there weight and prices reflect that. I would say you grab a bargain though every now & then which can put on tipping point for VFM.

When I bought my "Big Crown" fourteen years ago,  after a bit of haggling, it cost me £320.

The RRP is now £1160.

The build quality for the money is excellent.

Your great at digging up supposed information, as you are at making things up. Perhaps you want to spend a little more time obtaining fact. It is not uncommon for watch manufacturers to either obtain parts from China, or have Chinese people put the watches together. Personally I don't care, and wonder why you hate the Chinese so much you believe their products and manufacturing processes are so poor. To be honest, I suspect you may be a tad racist.

Anyway, I wish you a happy Christmas. and very much hope you're maturity catches up with your years this coming year !

Even though I absolutely love them it's Tag for me. Roughly about £500-1000 above what they should retail out hence why generally available discounted as previously mentioned.

Like Marmite either you love or hate them market is still flooded with them.

Although you haven't asked, best value for money:

Glycine (Very thin profile eta for sub £500)

CWard ( Cosc for £800 ish)

Certina (You get a 80hr Cosc for <£1k)

Tissot (as above same swatch group)

Tudor (almost Rolex without the marketing behind it)

Ultimately it is perception, one's man normal, could be another man's overpriced......

That was my next thread. Can I please ask everyone to ignore the above post :(

The booze is not only making you very tetchy but affecting your eyesight as "why answer such a question" does not feature in my posts. A good sleep and you will feel better in the morning.
