Hello everyone

Recommended Posts

Hello all , a complete novice at the age of 55 here in watch ownership :( . I have enjoyed reading many threads from members here and you have really got me champing at the bit  . I don't own a watch for many years and even then it wouldn't have been anything special and that was back in the 1980's . My passion was building/restoring 1980's Yamaha 2 stroke motorcycles , those days are over due to an accident so I am contemplating my next hobby which is looking to be watches

Thanks for letting me join the forum

Don

Hi, and welcome to the forum, Don. I'm sure you'll find lots to keep you interested here, not only watches, but there are lots of motorcycle threads in the 'Non watch interests and hobbies' section. I'm guessing (not being a motorcyclist myself) that your forum name 'Beesadon' refers to the BSA brand which were/are known as 'Beezers'...?

BSA   and  Webley  made many rifles and pistols between the wars.   all QUITE collectable ,    some may be usable in some parts of the UK.    vin

Hi , Vin . Yes BSA and Webley made some fine rifles . I have owned many Webley and BSA Air rifles over the years . I used to be a bit of a collector myself , life and things change so I/we move on lol

Hi Don, well, there's a coincidence....I too have just joined this welcoming bunch of nutters after having given up motorcycles [ due to a long overdue respect for my arms and legs ]. I suppose there are many similarities between watches and bikes, being able to take them apart and tinker so to speak. Although I find that watches react less well than bikes to having bits left over! I am 55 as well, maybe this is the age that wisdom finally starts to assert itself.

I look forward to more posts from you...

Best regards

Steve

I was also 55 once - the years have ticked by since then - even more quickly since I joined the Watch Forum UK; such a friendly and interesting place to be, that time flies...

Welcome, Beesadon.
