Went to see the car the other day as QC in Thailand is terrible. They didn’t disappoint...11 issues with the freshly powdercoated wheel:

Not actually on the wrist today but thought I'd show off the new arrival! Like many, I had always been put off CW by the branding but was having a discussion with a colleague who is considering a mid-priced watch and, among many others, told him to have a look at CW. I mentioned I wasn't overly keen on the name or the fact it's off center but when we had a look on the website I saw this and pulled the trigger. He didn't

I have to say though, I'd very impressed and would confidently say it won't be my last purchase.

Hope everyone had a good weekend

having a veteran day today, plus the added advantage that that second hand is brilliant when doing manual Pulse or Resp rate counts!

Today it’ll be this Benrus Selfwinding with their 17j DO-135, derived from the AS 1423.

Probably from around 1960 and badly in need of a new crystal, which it would get if it spent more than one day a year outside of a watch box. Out of sight, and all that.

Regards.

Today’s watch.

32aab381a66278a2fc071c0ceeebc086.jpg

A handsome little Eterna Tangaroa. Dressy but tough enough, slim height, 42mm and a Selita SW200 movement. Completely unsellable at the over 1k rrp but an absolute bargain at the 75% off I got it from on Drop even paying vat and duty didn’t stop this being a total bargain.

I love the grey dial colour and the blued hands make it surprisingly legible, no lume though. The minute railroad and 1/4 second tick tracks are subtle and applied indexes and logo along with button double deployant metal bracelet the signed logo crown mean this punches way above what I paid for it.

One of those watches that in first glances looks a bit meh but on the wrist just looks and feels right. Add to that some real brand history, Eterna is the company that founded ETA and you have a watch that is just phenomenal.

The branding isn't too bad on that, I could probably live with it :)
