I hope(d) to be basking in the sun with a couple of cold ones but my beer delivery seems to have fallen into a black hole and is now trapped in a weird quantum universe where particles can co-exist at different points in space at the same time:

So it's on its way to me, but still at the depot after it was delivered!  Huh?  What?

Big M bought me some stuff for my birthday the other week and had exactly the same thing with one parcel.

On the beer front ASDA is a five minutes walk at the top of the road for us so I’m only ever waiting for Big M to get back with them.

18 tins of Stella arrived half an hour ago.

My shipment is Brewdog "Double Punk" 8.2%.  I doubt anyone sampling it would be capable of sending any emails.  He's probably still trying to figure out where he is... and who he is

Stepson and family  decided they wanted artifical turf in their back garden and was going to do it all himself so my wife (Ruth) and I offered our services , granted I can not do everything being in a wheelchair but I can shovel hardcore and sand etc . Monday he removed the turf himself and yesterday me and Ruth filled a skip full of the removed turf amongst other jobs . Today we all shifted 2 ton of hardcore and 1 ton of sharp sand ( not sharp sand exactly but then not sure exactly what it was )

Before and after photos

Tomorrow's plan to finish laying the sharp sand , whacker it all down , lay more membrane and roll out the artificial turf for 24 hours to let it settle then friday if we are needed we will help trim and pin the turf .

Knackered now but we really enjoyed ourselves

Standard. Walk up woods with tanya. And ive been putting new posts in the garage and new bits of wood on under the supervision of dad who "cant be much help" having fallen off the ladders after we started the job last week. Leaving me to refit the door. Bloody heavy too. Still to finish it off with spray foam and more bits off wood.

We have pretty much with stuck the lockdown and other than a bit of shopping, some wood collecting on the waste ground and a walk down to the sea wall which is only a couple of minutes walk we haven’t been anywhere.

But Big M was going a bit stir crazy, the beach is only a short walk but rather than take a chance  with all the numpty corona idiots we went in the opposite direction to the marina. Thankfully despite the good weather there was hardly anybody about.

A few snaps of some expensive floating real estate, lots of for sale signs for pretty much unsellable boats and flats that surround it.

@Nigelp

The rusty old Jags are still there, on closer inspection the silver one is properly rotted and looks beyond saving and the Range Rover isn’t much better.

The party is over

:laughing2dw: :laughing2dw:

My shouty Boss was on the phone  to me over the weekend being extremely nice and polite, they got some work in that required my specialist skills and he wanted me to go back today.

Joking apart Big M and I were beginning to go a bit stir crazy so whilst I’m not entirely happy about it I decided to go in have a look see how they’ve handled the social distancing, layout and so on and take from there. The shop floor has a clearly marked out one way route, several separate in/out entrances and all the facilities and toilets taped up to give a reasonable distance between employees. Towel rolls and big spray bottles of sanitiser at each work station and machines and those of us that are in doing what we can to stay out of each another’s way. So a bit of effort has been put in. I’ll see how it goes.

Getting up at 5.30am again was a bit of a shock to the system though.

No double bubbling typically they are making out they are doing us a favour and cutting the rates. Putting some people on notice of redundancy then offering new contracts at reduced hourly rates.

I suspect as things pick up this will be a common ploy.

Ive put Big M on notice that she might need to dig a bit deeper into her stash to keep me going on my Vodka Red Bulls & Armani shirts.

You have my sympathy! I have spent much of the day on my knees!

Still decorating

Finished cutting in above the skirting board, corners and around the doors, removed the radiator and painted the wall behind, repaired some damage on the window sill and took the blinds down ready for tomorrow. Hopefully I can start with the roller soon.

Went for a long walk today to see what about, naturewise. Lots of bugs and wild flowers. Pics in the photography section.

Younger son asked me to make a bracelet for the baby daughter of one of his friends. The challenge was to come up with a fastening method that would 'grow' as the baby gets bigger...a standard clasp would have meant it was fixed in length. I came up with a sliding system that will allow the bracelet to expand from its smallest size (about 4" round) to at least 5.5-6".  To keep it small, I only used a single core strand of white and did a simple Solomon knot over it for 3". The two white ends were then crossed and another 1" of Solomon knot tied to form the slider. The ends of the white cords have a single strand button stopper knot tied on them. I could have made it even more delicate if I had used 2mm pink cord (I used standard 3mm), but I don't have any at the moment. I've ordered some for future use.

Went out for a drive yesterday with 'erself.  We went over to Loch Lomond, then north through Arrochar to Loch Fyne, then back through the 'Rest-and-be-thankful' to Loch Long and back home via Gareloch, It was great to see the world outside my garden for a change:thumbs_up:

Today I am watching the miserable wet & windy weather again.
