Converted G-Shock Rangeman. I always liked the bright colour of the LE  yellow 'Lightning' version, but not the pale yellow, jaundiced colour of the face, or the horrible green colour of the backlight. With this mod, I got the best of both worlds...the bright yellow case and strap, but with the more pleasing (to me, anyway) and readable standard module.

Original watch.

Casio GW-9400 Rangeman.

After converting...you can see from the elapsed time it took 17 minutes to convert, including setting up for the photos...:)

Morning,

Today I'm braving the Chaika-KR ("Quartz Rezonator") featuring the 10j 3050 electro-mechanical-quartz movement and measuring 41mm across the case.

You may know the story about these things; that they were produced between several Soviet factories with each one contributing their own bit towards the finished article; that when the higher quality of the first generation became uneconomic to manufacture after only one year, this second generation appeared in 1978, continuing until 1983; and that although maybe "manufactured to a price" they had a claimed accuracy of +/-2 secs per day which still seems to be about right nearly 40 years later.

Regards.
