With a 10x loupe it is just possible to make out the last vestiges of the factory logo.

Possibly faded with age, use and radium; alternatively, a dial-cleaning mistake! (not mine this time ).

You have to keep these running - if they sit at the back of a drawer for ages you get radium burn on the dial and crystal.  Judging by the wear on the crown, this one has been kept wound for the last 70 years!

Velcro "fastwrap' strap.

I always enjoy Speedy Tuesday!      This Life magazine was my Grandfathers.

Vintage Omega Geneve automatic circa 1970's

I bought this to remind me of my Grandfather who was a sailor, built his own catamaran and admired Thor Heyerdahl. It's not a Kontiki though (Tangaroa was a raft built to replicate Heyerdahl's expedition). I kind of justified the buying of it as having some tenuous connection and it being extremely cheap. The connection thing fell flat on it's face but I just love the watch in and of itself. The face is fantastically clean, the blued hands elegant giving it a sporty yet dressy look that I really like. I will get a Kontiki of some description at some point but this is a keeper too.

Some fantastic watches on display this morning. Am I about to end the run? I couldn't get on with the original bracelet on my Citizen Crystron, the last straw being when it sprang open while I was planting a rose bush in the garden.

I've had this NATO for ages and it often gets used as a stop gap before a leather strap arrives. But I think it suits the Crystron rather well and might be the permanent replacement. What do you think?

Same as yesterday & Sunday - including the album - except I said that it was powered by a 6498 movement & it turns out that it's a 6497 movement  (I just wanted to set the record straight & prove to you all that I have no clue what I'm talking about!)

Change into my beater ready to straighten the wonky gatepost.  Neighbours are nice, all for having neighbours that you never see or hear, not keen on the ones who insist on leaning on your gate and chatting.  I've put trellis on top now, so that ought to stop the anti-social behaviour.
