I have my Grandfathers pocket watch which has a silver case with a date letter for 1935. The movement has a makers mark which I can not identify.  Does anybody now this mark.

Errrr, I think something is missing from your post, @Yeahdaddyo, namely the maker's mark in question.

If you can post again on this thread, perhaps introducing yourself and then providing details and photos of the watch, we can get to work and hopefully identify the item for you.:)

Of course, sorry. My name is Jason and the watch in question is my Grandads pocket watch. I thought I had added a photo, but it seems not.

Hopefully that works. If it does I'll add some more pics.

Hi Barry

Think you may be confused, they did have a registered Trident mark (on it’s own) with R & S either side.  Only used on their timepieces utilising imported Swiss movements.

They did have a similar mark with a R symbol wrapped around but in a different cartouche.

The manufactory was actually located in Spon Street, Coventry.

Hi Karrusel,

I've a small wrist watch collection and I'm a aspiring technician/watchmaker. I'm looking to take some courses to improve my technique and knowledge. I've repaired 3 of my own watches and a neighbours. So I have a little experience in horology. I did do a search online for this makers mark, but found nothing. I will do another search with the information you have provided.

Thank you.

sorry the last sentence was meant to say

I will do another search with any information that is provided.
